The methods used include transfer matrices, generating functions, recurrence relations, and difference equations, and in some cases involve utilization of less familiar mathematical techniques such as continued fractions and q-series. The authors emphasize an overall view of what can be learned generally of the statistical mechanics of anisotropic systems, including phenomena near surfaces, by studying the solvable models. Thus, the concept of scaling and, where known, finite-size scaling properties are elucidated. Scaling and statistical mechanics of anisoptropic systems in general are active research topics. The volume provides a comprehensive survey of exact model results in this field. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Physics,$x0075-8450 ;$v338 606 $aPhysical chemistry 606 $aThermodynamics 606 $aStatistical physics 606 $aDynamical systems 606 $aAtoms 606 $aPhysics 606 $aPolymers   606 $aPhysical Chemistry$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C21001 606 $aThermodynamics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P21050 606 $aComplex Systems$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P33000 606 $aAtomic, Molecular, Optical and Plasma Physics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P24009 606 $aPolymer Sciences$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C22008 606 $aStatistical Physics and Dynamical Systems$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P19090 615 0$aPhysical chemistry. 615 0$aThermodynamics. 615 0$aStatistical physics. 615 0$aDynamical systems. 615 0$aAtoms. 615 0$aPhysics. 615 0$aPolymers  . 615 14$aPhysical Chemistry. 615 24$aThermodynamics. 615 24$aComplex Systems. 615 24$aAtomic, Molecular, Optical and Plasma Physics. 615 24$aPolymer Sciences. 615 24$aStatistical Physics and Dynamical Systems. 676 $a541 700 $aPrivman$b Vladimir$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$053117 702 $aSvrakic$b Nenad M$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996466805403316 996 $aDirected Models of Polymers, Interfaces, and Clusters: Scaling and Finite-Size Properties$92542071 997 $aUNISA LEADER 01343nam 2200337Ia 450 001 996388132803316 005 20221108012342.0 035 $a(CKB)1000000000625933 035 $a(EEBO)2248533521 035 $a(OCoLC)9922918800971 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000625933 100 $a20061013d1618 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurbn||||a|bb| 200 10$aChristopher Angell, a Grecian, who tasted of many stripes and torments inflicted by the Turkes for the faith which he had in Iesus Christ$b[electronic resource] 210 $aAt Oxford, $cPrinted by Iohn Lichfield, and Iames Short, Printers to the famous Vniversitie$d1618. 215 $a[16] p. $cill 300 $aAttributed to Christophorus Angelus.
