Womanpriest is the first academic study of the RCWP movement. As an ethnography, Womanpriest analyzes the womenpriests' actions and lived theologies in order to explore ongoing tensions in Roman Catholicism around gender and sexuality, priestly authority, and religious change. In order to understand how womenpriests navigate tradition and transgression, this study situates RCWP within post-Vatican II Catholicism, apostolic succession, sacraments, ministerial action, and questions of embodiment. Womanpriest reveals RCWP to be a discrete religious movement in a distinct religious moment, with a small group of tenacious women defying the Catholic patriarchy, taking on the priestly role, and demanding reconsideration of Roman Catholic tradition. Doing so, the women inhabit and re-create the central tensions in Catholicism today. 410 0$aCatholic practice in North America. 606 $aWomen priests 606 $aOrdination of women$xCatholic Church 608 $aElectronic books. 610 $aRoman Catholicism. 610 $afeminism. 610 $aordination. 610 $apriesthood. 610 $asacraments. 610 $awomanpriest. 610 $awomen. 615 0$aWomen priests. 615 0$aOrdination of women$xCatholic Church. 676 $a262.142082 700 $aPeterfeso$b Jill$0968769 801 0$bMdBmJHUP 801 1$bMdBmJHUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996365043703316 996 $aWomanpriest$92200543 997 $aUNISA LEADER 02487oam 2200505M 450 001 9910715816903321 005 20191123062451.3 035 $a(CKB)5470000002515919 035 $a(OCoLC)1063826302 035 $a(OCoLC)995470000002515919 035 $a(EXLCZ)995470000002515919 100 $a20070221d1863 ua 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcn||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aIn the Senate of the United States. This book provides a fundamental description of the synapse by leading experts in the field. Each individual synapse carries out its numerous functions in a tiny space, thereby requiring an exquisite molecular and functional arrangement. This book describes the molecular structure and cellular function of central synapses in the brain, providing a detailed view of the brain?s fundamental unit of information storage. 606 $aNeural transmission 606 $aSynapses 615 0$aNeural transmission. 615 0$aSynapses. 676 $a612.81 701 $aEhlers$b Michael D$01560457 701 $aHell$b Johannes W$01560458 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910777466003321 996 $aStructural and functional organization of the synapse$93826424 997 $aUNINA
