Closet Space provides a highly original account of the spatial metaphor of ""the closet"", and is the first geography text to focus on this important issue. Using a variety of research techniques and materials, the book explores the closet through texts including:* the oral histories of gay men in the UK and US* the sexualised landscape of a New Zealand city* the national census of Britain and the US* international travel guides and traveloguesand refers to the work of Butler, Lefebvre and Foucault. 606 $aCloseted gays 606 $aComing out (Sexual orientation) 606 $aHomosexuality, Male 606 $aSocial sciences 606 $aSpatial behavior 606 $aGay & Lesbian Studies$2HILCC 606 $aGender & Ethnic Studies$2HILCC 606 $aSocial Sciences$2HILCC 606 $aCloseted gays$xPhilosophy 606 $aComing out (Sexual orientation) 606 $aSpatial behavior 606 $aSocial sciences 608 $aElectronic books. 615 4$aCloseted gays. 615 4$aComing out (Sexual orientation). 615 4$aHomosexuality, Male. 615 4$aSocial sciences. 615 4$aSpatial behavior. 615 7$aGay & Lesbian Studies 615 7$aGender & Ethnic Studies 615 7$aSocial Sciences 615 0$aCloseted gays$xPhilosophy 615 0$aComing out (Sexual orientation) 615 0$aSpatial behavior 615 0$aSocial sciences 676 $a306 676 $a306.76/6 700 $aBrown$b Michael P$096345 801 0$bAU-PeEL 801 1$bAU-PeEL 801 2$bAU-PeEL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910450311703321 996 $aCloset Space$91926546 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04279nam 22006495 450 001 996365043003316 005 20220606161232.0 010 $a1-5015-0646-3 010 $a1-5015-0655-2 024 7 $a10.1515/9781501506550 035 $a(CKB)4100000011559099 035 $a(DE-B1597)479985 035 $a(DE-B1597)9781501506550 035 $a(OCoLC)1202623737 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5525636 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL5525636 035 $a(OCoLC)1256236480 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/63613 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000011559099 100 $a20201028h20202020 fg 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||#|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 14$aDie babylonisch-assyrische Medizin in Texten und Untersuchungen$hBand 10$iMesopotamian Eye Disease Texts ; The Nineveh Treatise /$fMarkham J. This volume is the first complete edition and commentary on Mesopotamian medicine from Nineveh dealing with diseases of the eye. This ancient work, languishing in British Museum archives since the 19th century, is preserved on several large cuneiform manuscripts from the royal library of Ashurbanipal, from the 7th century BC. The longest surviving ancient work on diseased eyes, the text predates by several centuries corresponding Hippocratic treatises. The Nineveh series represents a systematic array of eye symptoms and therapies, also showing commonalities with Egyptian and Greco-Roman medicine. Since scholars of Near Eastern civilizations and ancient and general historians of medicine will need to be familiar with this material, the volume makes this aspect of Babylonian medicine fully accessible to both specialists and non-specialists, with all texts being fully translated into English. 606 $aRELIGION / Biblical Criticism & Interpretation / Old Testament$2bisacsh 607 $aIraq$zNineveh (Extinct city)$2fast 607 $aNineveh/Ninos$2pleiades 607 $aMesopotamia (region)$2pleiades 608 $aSources.$2fast 608 $aTexts.$2fast 610 $aCuneiform medicine. 610 $aMesopotamian therapy. 610 $aeye disease. 610 $aophthalmology. 615 7$aRELIGION / Biblical Criticism & Interpretation / Old Testament. 676 $a610.935 700 $aGeller$b Markham J.$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0315054 702 $aBiggs$b Robert D.$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aKöcher$b Franz$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aPanayotov$b Strahil V.$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 712 02$aEuropean Research Council (ERC)$4fnd$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/fnd 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996365043003316 996 $aDie babylonisch-assyrische Medizin in Texten und Untersuchungen$92177365 997 $aUNISA
