Many results in probability theory, mathematical statistics and stochastic processes can be derived by using these functions. While there are books on characteristic functions of one variable, books devoting some sections to the multivariate case, and books treating the general case of locally compact groups, interestingly there is no book devoted entirely to the multidimensional case which is extremely important for applications. This book is intended to fill this gap at least partially. It makes the basic concepts and results on multivariate characteristic and correlation functions easily accessible to both students and researchers in a comprehensive manner. The first chapter presents basic results and should be read carefully since it is essential for the understanding of the subsequent chapters. The second chapter is devoted to correlation functions, their applications to stationary processes and some connections to harmonic analysis. In Chapter 3 we deal with several special properties, Chapter 4 is devoted to the extension problem while Chapter 5 contains a few applications. A relatively large appendix comprises topics like infinite products, functional equations, special functions or compact operators. 410 3$aDe Gruyter Studies in Mathematics 606 $aCharacteristic functions 606 $aCorrelation (Statistics) 606 $aVariables (Mathematics) 606 $aMultivariate analysis 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aCharacteristic functions. 615 0$aCorrelation (Statistics) 615 0$aVariables (Mathematics) 615 0$aMultivariate analysis. 676 $a519.2/32 700 $aSasva?ri$b Zolta?n$0522980 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910464288303321 996 $aMultivariate characteristic and correlation functions$9828096 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04771nam 22006371a 450 001 996248300203316 005 20170816113130.0 010 $a0-7867-2208-8 024 7 $a2027/heb32663 035 $a(CKB)3230000000001728 035 $a(EBL)900344 035 $a(OCoLC)792687495 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000642175 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)12282821 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000642175 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10648607 035 $a(PQKB)11657797 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC900344 035 $a(dli)HEB32663 035 $a(MiU) MIU01100000000000000000258 035 $a(EXLCZ)993230000000001728 100 $a20060721d2006 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aTotal chaos $ethe art and aesthetics of hip-hop /$fedited by Jeff Chang 210 $aNew York $cBasicCivitas Books$dc2006 215 $a1 online resource (399 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a0-465-00909-3 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aContents; Introduction Hip-Hop Arts: Our Expanding Universe byJeff Chang ix; PART ONE; Roots: Perspectives on Hip-Hop History 3; 1 Dreams of a Final Theory Harry Allen; 2 Nommo Anthony "Amde"Hamilton; 3 (Yet Another) Letter to a Young Poet Marc Bamuthi Joseph; 4 Physical Graffiti: The History of Hip-Hop Dance Jorge "POPMASTER FABEL"Pabon; 5 The Art of Battling: An Interview with Zulu King Alien Ness Joe Schloss; 6 Got Next: A Roundtable on Identity and Aesthetics after Multiculturalism Greg Tate, Vijay Prashad, Mark Anthony Neal, and Brian Cross; PART TWO 327 $aFlipping the Script: Beyond the Four Elements 557 The Pure Movement and the Crooked Line: An Interview with Rennie Harris Jeff Chang; 8 Found in Translation: The Emergence of Hip-Hop Theatre Eisa Davis; 9 From the Dope Spot to Broadway: A Roundtable on Hip-Hop Theatre, Dance, and Performance Marc Bamuthi Joseph, Kamilah Forbes, Traci Bartlow, and Javier Reyes; 10 On Lit Hop Adam Mansbach; 11 Who Shot Ya: A History of Hip-Hop Photography Bill Adler; 12 Words and Images: A Roundtable on Hip-Hop Design Cey Adams, Brent Rollins, and Sacha Jenkins 327 $a13 Between the Studio and the Street: Hip-Hop in the Postmillennial Visual Arts, A Roundtable Curated by Lydia Yee, with Nadine Robinson, Sanford Biggers, Luis Gispert, and Jackie Salloum14 The City in Public versus Private: Through a Scanner Darkly Paul D.
