Emerging farmers are previously disadvantaged black people who started or will start their business with the support of special government programs. Public support programs have been developed as part of the Black Economic Empowerment strategy of the South African government. These programs aim to improve the performance of emerging farmers. This requires, first and foremost, upgrading the emerging farmers skills by providing access to knowledge about agricultural and entrepreneurial practices. To become or to remain good farmers they also need access to suitable agricultural land and sufficient water for irrigation and for feeding their cattle. Finally, for emerging farmers to be engaged in viable farming operations, various factors need to be in place such as marketing and service institutions to give credit for agricultural inputs and investments; input markets for farm machinery, farm implements, fertilizers and quality seeds; and accessible output markets for their end products. This book develops a policy framework and potential institutional responses to unlock the relevant markets for smallholders. 410 0$aMansholt Publication Series ;$v10 606 $aLife sciences 606 $aLife Sciences, general$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L00004 610 $agovernance in supply 610 $asmallholder farmers 610 $astrategies to improve market access 610 $aunlocking markets 610 $ainstitutional and technical constraints 610 $aLivestock 610 $aSouth Africa 610 $aSupermarket 615 0$aLife sciences. 615 14$aLife Sciences, general. 676 $a338.1868 700 $aSchalkwyk$b Herman D. van$4auth$01354823 702 $avan Schalkwyk$b Herman D$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aGroenewald$b Jan A$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aFraser$b Gavin C.G$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aObi$b Ajuruchukwu$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $avan Tilburg$b Aad$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 801 2$bUkMaJRU 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996215332603316 996 $aUnlocking markets to smallholders$93358393 997 $aUNISA LEADER 01859oam 2200517zu 450 001 9911019265303321 005 20250821034004.0 010 $a1-118-70430-4 035 $a(CKB)3280000000033774 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000884473 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11500886 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000884473 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10939221 035 $a(PQKB)10137597 035 $a(NjHacI)993280000000033774 035 $a(EXLCZ)993280000000033774 100 $a20160829d2013 uy 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$a109 Ways to Retain Volunteers and Members 210 31$a[Place of publication not identified]$cJossey Bass Imprint$d2013 215 $a1 online resource (46 pages) 225 0 $aMembership Management Report 300 $aBibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph 311 08$a1-118-69317-5 330 $aOriginally published by Stevenson, Inc. , this practical resource provides great ideas and techniques to retain more of your volunteers and members, including step-by-step plans to create a retention plan that helps strengthen and increase your volunteer and membership base. 606 $aVoluntarism$xManagement 606 $aVoluntarism$xManagement$vHandbooks, manuals, etc 606 $aVolunteers$xManagement$vHandbooks, manuals, etc 606 $aMembership campaigns 608 $aHandbooks and manuals.$2lcgft 615 0$aVoluntarism$xManagement. 615 0$aVoluntarism$xManagement 615 0$aVolunteers$xManagement 615 0$aMembership campaigns. 676 $a361.37068 700 $aMmr$01345442 702 $aStevenson$b Scott C. 801 0$bPQKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9911019265303321 996 $a109 Ways to Retain Volunteers and Members$93071008 997 $aUNINA
