In today's challenging economy, they are the second-fastest growing group of workers (just behind older women). Filled with profiles of older working men, as well as dynamic interview quotes, Men Still at Work explores thorny issues such as masculinity and the "need to provide," as well as economic realities, job satisfaction, and more. 606 $aOlder men$xEmployment$zUnited States 606 $aProfessional employees$zUnited States 606 $aRetirement age$zUnited States 606 $aAge and employment$zUnited States 615 0$aOlder men$xEmployment 615 0$aProfessional employees 615 0$aRetirement age 615 0$aAge and employment 676 $a331.3/980973 700 $aFideler$b Elizabeth F.$0876426 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910787857803321 996 $aMen still at work$93864867 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01502nas 2200445-a 450 001 996212544903316 005 20240112213020.0 035 $a(OCoLC)62258095 035 $a(CKB)111077820648006 035 $a(CONSER)--2005249192 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2058587-1 035 $a(EXLCZ)99111077820648006 100 $a20051110a19879999 s-- - 101 0 $aspa 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aRevista colombiana de gastroenterología 210 $aBogotá, D.C. It introduces evidences from studies and projects which show how climate change adaptation is being - and may continue to be successfully implemented in African countries. Thanks to its scope and wide range of themes surrounding climate change, the ambition is that this book will be a lead publication on the topic, which may be regularly updated and hence capture further works. Climate change is a major global challenge. However, some geographical regions are more severly affected than others. One of these regions is the African continent. Due to a combination of unfavourable socio-economic and meteorological conditions, African countries are particularly vulnerable to climate change and its impacts. The recently released IPCC special report "Global Warming of 1.5º C" outlines the fact that keeping global warming by the level of 1.5º C is possible, but also suggested that an increase by 2º C could lead to crises with crops (agriculture fed by rain could drop by 50% in some African countries by 2020) and livestock production, could damage water supplies and pose an additonal threat to coastal areas. The 5th Assessment Report produced by IPCC predicts that wheat may disappear from Africa by 2080, and that maize? a staple?will fall significantly in southern Africa. Also, arid and semi-arid lands are likely to increase by up to 8%, with severe ramifications for livelihoods, poverty eradication and meeting the SDGs. Pursuing appropriate adaptation strategies is thus vital, in order to address the current and future challenges posed by a changing climate. It is against this background that the "African Handbook of Climate Change Adaptation" is being published. It contains papers prepared by scholars, representatives from social movements, practitioners and members of governmental agencies, undertaking research and/or executing climate change projects in Africa, and working with communities across the African continent. Encompassing over 100 contribtions from across Africa, it is the most comprehensive publication on climate change adaptation in Africa ever produced. . 606 $aEnvironment 606 $aManagement 606 $aEnvironmental education 606 $aSustainability 606 $aEnvironmental Sciences 606 $aManagement 606 $aEnvironmental and Sustainability Education 606 $aSustainability 615 0$aEnvironment. 615 0$aManagement. 615 0$aEnvironmental education. 615 0$aSustainability. 615 14$aEnvironmental Sciences. 615 24$aManagement. 615 24$aEnvironmental and Sustainability Education. 615 24$aSustainability. 676 $a363.73874096 676 $a363.73874096 700 $aLeal Filho$b Walter$0326246 701 $aOguge$b Nicholas O$01873895 701 $aAyal$b Desalegn$0899615 701 $aAdeleke$b Lydia$0899616 701 $aDa Silva$b Izael$0899617 701 $aLeal Filho$b Walter$0326246 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910482868503321 996 $aAfrican Handbook of Climate Change Adaptation$94484169 997 $aUNINA
