Whilst remaining a major part of the youth justice landscape, concern has been raised about the poor quality of workplace provision. In this book, Nicholas Pamment provides the first fully researched examination of community reparation. He establishes the most comprehensive model for the effective delivery of unpaid work, demonstrating the importance of 'meaningful' work placements which facilitate key employability skills, associated with reductions in re-offending. Drawing upon empirical evidence and the experience of offenders, he warns against a formulaic approach to workplace allocation, where there is an over-reliance on low cost menial tasks. His timely study concludes that more attention needs to be paid to the rehabilitative potential of community reparation, requiring the commitment and dedication of service providers. 410 0$aPalgrave pivot. 606 $aCriminology 606 $aJuvenile delinquents 606 $aCrime$xSociological aspects 606 $aSocial service 606 $aSociology 606 $aCorrections 606 $aPunishment 606 $aCriminology 606 $aYouth Offending and Juvenile Justice 606 $aCrime and Society 606 $aSocial Work 606 $aSociology 606 $aPrison and Punishment 615 0$aCriminology. 615 0$aJuvenile delinquents. 615 0$aCrime$xSociological aspects. 615 0$aSocial service. 615 0$aSociology. 615 0$aCorrections. 615 0$aPunishment. 615 14$aCriminology. 615 24$aYouth Offending and Juvenile Justice. 615 24$aCrime and Society. 615 24$aSocial Work. 615 24$aSociology. 615 24$aPrison and Punishment. 676 $a364.360942 700 $aPamment$b N$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01060579 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910279574403321 996 $aCommunity Reparation for Young Offenders$92514344 997 $aUNINA
