One of the most conspicuous outcomes of this process was the building or rebuilding of new court palaces, erected as prestigious residences in accord with the new ?classical? principles of Renaissance architecture. The novelties, however, went far beyond architectural forms: they involved the reorganisation of courtly interiors and their functions, new uses for the buildings, and the relationship between the palaces and their surroundings. The whole urban setting was affected by these processes, and therefore the social, residential and political customs of its inhabitants. This is the focus of A Renaissance Architecture of Power , which aims to analyse from a comparative perspective the evolution of Italian court palaces in the Renaissance in their entirety. Contributors are Silvia Beltramo, Flavia Cantatore, Bianca de Divitiis, Emanuela Ferretti, Marco Folin, Giulio Girondi, Andrea Longhi, Marco Rosario Nobile, Aurora Scotti, Elena Svalduz, and Stefano Zaggia. 410 0$aMedieval Mediterranean ;$vVolume 104. 606 $aArchitecture, Renaissance$zItaly$xHistory 606 $aArchitecture and state$zItaly$xHistory$yTo 1500 606 $aArchitecture and state$zItaly$xHistory$y16th century 606 $aPower (Social sciences)$zItaly$xHistory 606 $aPrinces$xDwellings$zItaly$xHistory 606 $aPalaces$zItaly$xHistory 606 $aRenaissance$zItaly 607 $aItaly$xKings and rulers$xDwellings$xHistory 607 $aItaly$xPolitics and government$y1268-1559 607 $aItaly$xHistory, Local 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aArchitecture, Renaissance$xHistory. 615 0$aArchitecture and state$xHistory 615 0$aArchitecture and state$xHistory 615 0$aPower (Social sciences)$xHistory. 615 0$aPrinces$xDwellings$xHistory. 615 0$aPalaces$xHistory. 615 0$aRenaissance 676 $a720.945/09024 702 $aBeltramo$b Silvia 702 $aCantatore$b Flavia 702 $aFolin$b Marco 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910493158303321 996 $aA renaissance architecture of power$92459140 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03703nam 2200637Ia 450 001 996205745603316 005 20180612234459.0 010 $a9786612335365 010 $a0-19-970448-1 010 $a1-282-33536-7 035 $a(CKB)1000000000779875 035 $a(EBL)3053516 035 $a(OCoLC)489195507 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000289037 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11207997 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000289037 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10383809 035 $a(PQKB)10558089 035 $a(StDuBDS)EDZ0000072890 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3053516 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000779875 100 $a20081119d2009 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 14$aThe Arabic Hermes$b[electronic resource] $efrom pagan sage to prophet of science /$fKevin van Bladel 210 $aNew York ;$aOxford $cOxford University Press$dc2009 215 $a1 online resource (291 p.) 225 1 $aOxford studies in late antiquity 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a0-19-987163-9 311 $a0-19-537613-7 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $a""Preface""; ""Contents""; ""Note on Documentation and Transliteration""; ""Part I: Background""; ""1.
