The historical background is the circumstances of the Church becoming independent of the Empire. A theological and philosophical aspect of the transformation of piety at the time was the specification of the ontological status of the sacred (spiritualization) and "shifting it to Heaven" (transcendentalization). In opposition to a theory of Western civilization as a process of increasing individual self-control, the author argues for the need to take into account purely religious conditions (the idea of recapitulation). This allows the author to develop a holistic aesthetics for the religiously inspired creativity in the period spanning the 11th-15th centuries and to propose a new typology of medieval drama. 410 0$aInterdisciplinary studies in performance ;$v20. 606 $aDrama, Medieval$xHistory and criticism 610 $a2013 610 $aAges 610 $aArt History 610 $aCognitive Psychology 610 $acywilizacja 610 $aDabrowka 610 $aestetyka 610 $aHistorical Anthropology 610 $aMedieval Drama 610 $aMiddle 610 $aMonografie 610 $aReligia 610 $aReligion and Civilization 610 $aSacred 610 $asacrum 610 $aseria 610 $aSocial History 610 $a?redniowieczu 610 $aTeatr 610 $aTheater 610 $aTheatre 610 $aTorun 610 $aWydawnictwo 615 0$aDrama, Medieval$xHistory and criticism. 676 $a809.202 700 $aDa?bro?wka$b Andrzej$0679224 702 $aBurzyn?ski$b Jan 702 $aGolubiewski$b Miko?aj$f1985- 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910493752703321 996 $aTheater and the sacred in the Middle Ages$92127792 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02195nas 2200829-a 450 001 996199210603316 005 20240203213017.0 011 $a1474-760X 035 $a(OCoLC)49210873 035 $a(CKB)1000000000224391 035 $a(CONSER)--2002262017 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000224391 100 $a20020227a20009999 s-- a 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aGenome biology 210 $aLondon $cBioMed Central Ltd.$d©1999- 215 $a1 online resource 300 $aRefereed/Peer-reviewed 300 $aTitle from journal home page (viewed February 27, 2002). 311 $a1474-7596 517 3 $aGenomeBiology.com 517 1 $aGB.
