Modal Interval Analysis (MIA) is an attempt to go beyond the limitations of classic intervals in terms of their structural, algebraic and logical features. The starting point of MIA is quite simple: It consists in defining a modal interval that attaches a quantifier to a classical interval and in introducing the basic relation of inclusion between modal intervals by means of the inclusion of the sets of predicates they accept. This modal approach introduces interval extensions of the real continuous functions, identifies equivalences between logical formulas and interval inclusions, and provides the semantic theorems that justify these equivalences, along with guidelines for arriving at these inclusions. Applications of these equivalences in different areas illustrate the obtained results. The book also presents a new interval object: marks, which aspire to be a new form of numerical treatment of errors in measurements and computations. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Mathematics,$x0075-8434 ;$v2091 606 $aMathematical analysis 606 $aAnalysis (Mathematics) 606 $aControl engineering 606 $aNumerical analysis 606 $aAnalysis$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M12007 606 $aControl and Systems Theory$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T19010 606 $aNumeric Computing$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I1701X 615 0$aMathematical analysis. 615 0$aAnalysis (Mathematics). 615 0$aControl engineering. 615 0$aNumerical analysis. 615 14$aAnalysis. 615 24$aControl and Systems Theory. 615 24$aNumeric Computing. 676 $a515 700 $aSainz$b Miguel A$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0525064 702 $aArmengol$b Joaquim$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aCalm$b Remei$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aHerrero$b Pau$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aJorba$b Lambert$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aVehi$b Josep$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996198774703316 996 $aModal interval analysis$9822800 997 $aUNISA LEADER 01426nam1 22003493i 450 001 URB0613799 005 20251003044433.0 010 $a9788839207937 100 $a20200729d2006 ||||0itac50 ba 101 | $aita 102 $ait 181 1$6z01$ai $bxxxe 182 1$6z01$an 183 1$6z01$anc$2RDAcarrier 200 1 $aˆL'‰Università di Urbino, 1506-2006$fa cura di Stefano Pivato 210 $aUrbino$cUniversità degli studi di Urbino Carlo Bo$d2006 215 $a2 volumi$cill.$d25 cm 300 $aIn cofanetto. 463 1$1001URB0613790$12001 $aˆ1: La ‰storia$fa cura di Stefano Pivato$v1 463 1$1001URB0613805$12001 $aˆ2: I ‰saperi fra tradizione e innovazione$fa cura di Stefano Pivato$v2 606 $aUrbino$xUniversità$xStoria$2FIR$3SBLC131921$9I 676 $a378.456774$9EDUCAZIONE SUPERIORE.
