It is the first book that centres around system building globally, a theme that has gained political importance yet has received relatively little attention in academia. 410 0$aElgar Handbooks in Social Policy and Welfare 606 $aPolitical planning 606 $aPublic welfare 610 $aSocial protection 610 $awelfare state 610 $acoordination 610 $asystem 610 $apoverty 610 $arisk management 615 0$aPolitical planning. 615 0$aPublic welfare. 676 $a361.6 700 $aSchu?ring$b Esther$4edt$01372140 702 $aSchuring$b Esther 702 $aLoewe$b Markus 712 02$aEdward Elgar Publishing, 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910557591703321 996 $aHandbook on social protection systems$93402147 997 $aUNINA LEADER 00881nam0 22002411i 450 001 UON00093879 005 20231205102523.825 100 $a20020107d1977 |0itac50 ba 101 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $a|||| 1|||| 200 1 $aCorsica$fArmistizio Matteo Melillo 210 $aPisa$cPacini editore$d1977 143 p. ; 24 cm Il volume ha in allegato un disco 33 giri 620 $aIT$dPisa$3UONL000055 686 $aGLOTTOLOGIA$2A 700 1$aMELILLO$bArmistizio Matteo$3UONV060529$0199001 712 $aPacini$3UONV257974$4650 801 $aIT$bSOL$c20240220$gRICA 899 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$2UONSI 912 $aUON00093879 950 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$dSI GLOTT C 2 III 116 $eSI MC 8243 7 116 996 $aCorsica$9148673 997 $aUNIOR LEADER 04182nam 22007455 450 001 9910410030503321 005 20250610110516.0 010 $a9783030401382 010 $a3030401383 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-030-40138-2 035 $a(CKB)4100000011223407 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6187098 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-030-40138-2 035 $a(PPN)243762658 035 $a(Perlego)3480892 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC29090569 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000011223407 100 $a20200422d2020 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 14$aThe 'War on Terror', State Crime & Radicalization $eA Constitutive Theory of Radicalization /$fby Shamila Ahmed 205 $a1st ed. 2020. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Palgrave Macmillan,$d2020. 215 $a1 online resource (xv, 262 pages) $cillustrations 225 1 $aPalgrave Studies in Risk, Crime and Society,$x2946-2525 311 08$a9783030401375 311 08$a3030401375 327 $a1. Conclusion: State Crime, Radicalization and the War on Terror. 330 $aThis book examines the 'war on terror' and radicalisation from an ontological, non-state centric perspective. Since 9/11, criminology has developed in its study of terrorism, utilising alternative non-state centric frameworks to uncover and make visible state-initiated harm. Although progress has been achieved, criminology has continued to privilege the state, thereby failing to uncover forms of state crime and how such crimes facilitate radicalisation and terrorism. Ahmed aims to rectify this gap by demonstrating how crimes of the state have contributed to the existence of Islamist-inspired terrorism and the emergence of global Jihadist organisations like Al-Qaeda and ISIS. The 'War on Terror' abandons the dominant socially-constructed discourse and application of the 'war on terror' and instead favours a grounded approach whereby actors, actions and consequences are analysed according to the risk they represent. Ahmed achieves this grounded approach through situating state practices in international human rights law and international humanitarian law. Through documenting the intersectionality of these practices with radicalisation in the emergence of global Jihadist organisations, the book demonstrates how state crimes contribute to terrorism. Although the book sits at the intersections of critical criminology, state crime, international/transnational crime, it is relevant to all disciplines that are concerned with state crime, terrorism and radicalisation. 410 0$aPalgrave Studies in Risk, Crime and Society,$x2946-2525 606 $aVictims of crimes 606 $aTransnational crime 606 $aHuman rights 606 $aCriminology 606 $aTerrorism 606 $aPolitical violence 606 $aVictimology 606 $aTransnational Crime 606 $aHuman Rights 606 $aCrime Control and Security 606 $aTerrorism and Political Violence 615 0$aVictims of crimes. 615 0$aTransnational crime. 615 0$aHuman rights. 615 0$aCriminology. 615 0$aTerrorism. 615 0$aPolitical violence. 615 14$aVictimology. 615 24$aTransnational Crime. 615 24$aHuman Rights. 615 24$aCrime Control and Security. 615 24$aTerrorism and Political Violence. 676 $a363.32517 676 $a364.4 700 $aAhmed$b Shamila$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0905557 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910410030503321 996 $aThe ?War on Terror?, State Crime & Radicalization$92025667 997 $aUNINA
