Emerging farmers are previously disadvantaged black people who started or will start their business with the support of special government programs. Public support programs have been developed as part of the Black Economic Empowerment strategy of the South African government. These programs aim to improve the performance of emerging farmers. This requires, first and foremost, upgrading the emerging farmers skills by providing access to knowledge about agricultural and entrepreneurial practices. To become or to remain good farmers they also need access to suitable agricultural land and sufficient water for irrigation and for feeding their cattle. Finally, for emerging farmers to be engaged in viable farming operations, various factors need to be in place such as marketing and service institutions to give credit for agricultural inputs and investments; input markets for farm machinery, farm implements, fertilizers and quality seeds; and accessible output markets for their end products. This book develops a policy framework and potential institutional responses to unlock the relevant markets for smallholders. 410 0$aMansholt Publication Series ;$v10 606 $aLife sciences 606 $aLife Sciences, general$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L00004 610 $agovernance in supply 610 $asmallholder farmers 610 $astrategies to improve market access 610 $aunlocking markets 610 $ainstitutional and technical constraints 610 $aLivestock 610 $aSouth Africa 610 $aSupermarket 615 0$aLife sciences. 615 14$aLife Sciences, general. 676 $a338.1868 700 $aSchalkwyk$b Herman D. van$4auth$01354823 702 $avan Schalkwyk$b Herman D$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aGroenewald$b Jan A$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aFraser$b Gavin C.G$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aObi$b Ajuruchukwu$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $avan Tilburg$b Aad$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 801 2$bUkMaJRU 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996215332603316 996 $aUnlocking markets to smallholders$93358393 997 $aUNISA LEADER 04218nam 22007335 450 001 9910438143703321 005 20230323144810.0 010 $a3-642-33929-8 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-642-33929-5 035 $a(CKB)2670000000328006 035 $a(EBL)1082750 035 $a(OCoLC)826853746 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000879763 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11476118 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000879763 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10871637 035 $a(PQKB)10896246 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-642-33929-5 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6315631 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1082750 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL1082750 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10983468 035 $a(PPN)168325721 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000328006 100 $a20130125d2013 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aStatistics of Financial Markets $eExercises and Solutions /$fby Szymon Borak, Wolfgang Karl Härdle, Brenda López-Cabrera 205 $a2nd ed. 2013. 210 1$aBerlin, Heidelberg :$cSpringer Berlin Heidelberg :$cImprint: Springer,$d2013. 215 $a1 online resource (265 p.) 225 1 $aUniversitext,$x0172-5939 300 $a"Now with exotic options and more quantlets"--Cover. 311 $a3-642-33928-X 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aPart I Option Pricing: Derivatives -- Introduction to Option Management -- Basic Concepts of Probability Theory -- Stochastic Processes in Discrete Time -- Stochastic Integrals and Di erential Equations -- Black-Scholes Option Pricing Model -- Binomial Model for European Options -- American Options -- Models for the Interest Rate and Interest Rate Derivatives -- Part II Statistical Model of Financial Time Series: Financial Time Series Models -- ARIMA Time Series Models -- Time Series with Stochastic Volatility -- Part III Selected Financial Applications: Value at Risk and Backtesting -- Copulae and Value at Risk -- Statistics of Extreme Risks -- Volatility Risk of Option Portfolios -- Portfolio Credit Risk -- References. 330 $aPractice makes perfect. Therefore the best method of mastering models is working with them. This book contains a large collection of exercises and solutions which will help explain the statistics of financial markets. These practical examples are carefully presented and provide computational solutions to specific problems, all of which are calculated using R and Matlab. This study additionally looks at the concept of corresponding Quantlets, the name given to these program codes and which follow the name scheme SFSxyz123. The book is divided into three main parts, in which option pricing, time series analysis and advanced quantitative statistical techniques in finance is thoroughly discussed. The authors have overall successfully created the ideal balance between theoretical presentation and practical challenges. 410 0$aUniversitext,$x0172-5939 606 $aStatistics 606 $aEconomics, Mathematical 606 $aFinance 606 $aStatistics for Business, Management, Economics, Finance, Insurance$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/S17010 606 $aQuantitative Finance$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M13062 606 $aFinance, general$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/600000 615 0$aStatistics. 615 0$aEconomics, Mathematical. 615 0$aFinance. 615 14$aStatistics for Business, Management, Economics, Finance, Insurance. 615 24$aQuantitative Finance. 615 24$aFinance, general. 676 $a332.015195 700 $aBorak$b Szymon$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0508504 702 $aHärdle$b Wolfgang Karl$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aLópez-Cabrera$b Brenda$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910438143703321 996 $aStatistics of Financial Markets$92508215 997 $aUNINA
