Although expensive and potentially replaceable by transition metal catalysts, precious metal implementation in research and industry shows potential. These metals catalyze oxidation and hydrogenation due to their dissociative behavior toward hydrogen and oxygen, dehydrogenation, isomerization, and aromatization, etc. The precious metal catalysts, especially platinum-based catalysts, are involved in a variety of industrial processes. Examples include Pt-Rh gauze for nitric acid production, the Pt/Al2O3 catalyst for cyclohexane and propylene production, and Pd/Al2O3 catalysts for petrochemical hydropurification reactions, etc. A quick search of the number of published articles in the last five years containing a combination of corresponding "metals" (Pt, Pd, Ru, Rh and Au) and "catalysts" as keywords indicates the importance of the Pt catalysts, but also the continuous increase in the contribution of Pd and Au. This Special Issue reveals the importance of precious metals in catalysis and focuses on mono- and bi-metallic formulations of any supported precious metals and their promotional catalytic effect of other transition metals. The application of precious metals in diverse reactions, either homogeneous or heterogeneous, and studies of the preparation, characterization, and applications of the supported precious metal catalysts, are presented. 606 $aChemistry$2bicssc 610 $a1-propanol 610 $a2-?-benzylproline 610 $a2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol 610 $a2-propanol 610 $a3-butyn-1-ol 610 $a3-butyn-2-ol 610 $a4-fluoroproline 610 $a4-hydroxyproline 610 $aacetophenone 610 $aaging 610 $aalkenols 610 $aalkynols 610 $aamino acid 610 $aAu-TiO2 610 $aazetidine 610 $acaesium 610 $acatalyst synthesis 610 $achelate 610 $aclay 610 $aCNTs 610 $aCO oxidation 610 $acore-shell 610 $adehydrogenation 610 $adirect reduction 610 $adispersion 610 $aDOC 610 $adodecahydro-N-ethylcarbazole 610 $adrying 610 $agas phase hydrogenation 610 $aglucose oxidation 610 $aglycerol 610 $agold catalysts 610 $agold nanoparticles 610 $aheterogeneous enantioselective hydrogenation 610 $ahydrodechlorination 610 $ahydrogen bonding 610 $ahydrogen storage 610 $ahydrogenolysis 610 $amicrowave 610 $aN-methylproline 610 $an/a 610 $aoxidative coupling 610 $aP25@Pd 610 $apalladium 610 $apalladium catalyst 610 $apalladium catalysts 610 $aPd/Al2O3 610 $aperovskite 610 $aphenol photo-degradation 610 $aphotochemical 610 $aphotodegradation 610 $apipecolinic acid 610 $aplatinum dispersion 610 $aporous carbons 610 $aprecious metals 610 $aproline 610 $apropane dehydrogenation 610 $aPt-Sn/Al2O3 610 $aPt/Al2O3 610 $aPt3Sn alloy 610 $aPtSn alloy 610 $aPVA 610 $areduction temperature 610 $arenewable hydrogen 610 $aruthenium 610 $astabilizing agent 610 $asustainable ammonia synthesis 610 $atitania 610 $atriple bond electron charge 610 $aturnover frequency 610 $aX-ray crystallography 610 $aXPS 615 7$aChemistry 700 $aTejada$b Marcela Martinez$4auth$01323401 702 $aIvanova$b Svetlana$4auth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910404090303321 996 $aCatalysis by Precious Metals, Past and Future$93035504 997 $aUNINA
