The work considers Newman?s widely discussed views on conscience and assent, analyzing his understanding of moral law and its relation to the development of moral doctrine in Church tradition. By integrating Newman?s religious epistemology and theological method, the author explores the hermeneutics of the imagination in moral decision-making: the imagination enables us to interpret complex reality in a practical manner, to relate belief with action. The analysis bridges philosophical and religious discourse, discussing three related categories. The first deals with Newman?s commitment to truth and holiness whereby he connects the realm of doctrine with the realm of salvation. The second category considers theoretical foundations of religious morality, and the third category explores Newman?s hermeneutics of the imagination to clarify his view of moral law, moral conscience, and Church tradition as practical foundations of religious morality. The author explains how secular reason in moral discernment can elicit religious significance. As a result, Church tradition should develop doctrine and foster holiness by being receptive to emerging experiences and cultural change. John Henry Newman was a highly controversial figure and his insightful writings continue to challenge and influence scholarship today. This book is a significant contribution to that scholarship and the analysis and literature comprise a detailed research guide for graduates and scholars. 606 $aReligion?Philosophy 606 $aEthics 606 $aReligion 606 $aPhilosophy of Religion$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/E33000 606 $aEthics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/E14000 606 $aReligious Studies, general$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/1A0000 615 0$aReligion?Philosophy. 615 0$aEthics. 615 0$aReligion. 615 14$aPhilosophy of Religion. 615 24$aEthics. 615 24$aReligious Studies, general. 676 $a10 676 $a170 676 $a200 676 $a210 700 $aMagill$b Gerard$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01225133 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910484364803321 996 $aReligious Morality in John Henry Newman$92844623 997 $aUNINA LEADER 00944nam0 2200265 450 001 000035652 005 20241105150634.0 100 $a20230612-1983----km-y0itay50------ba 101 0 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $ay-------001yy 200 1 $aIl mercato petrolifero internazionale$eNuovi soggetti e nuove regole del gioco nell'offerta di greggio$fPietro Genco 210 $aMilano$cFranco Angeli$d1983 215 $a235 p.$d22 cm 225 2 $aEconomia e politica dell'energia$v16 410 0$12001$aEconomia e politica dell'energia$v16 500 10$aIl mercato petrolifero internazionale$93575828 610 1 $aPetrolio$aMercato$aInternazionale 676 $a382$v22$9Commercio internazionale 700 1$aGenco,$bPietro$09769 801 0$aIT$bUNIPARTHENOPE$c20230612$gREICAT$2UNIMARC 912 $a000035652 951 $aDIP I-0163$b3720$cNAVA2$d2011 996 $aIl mercato petrolifero internazionale$93575828 997 $aUNIPARTHENOPE LEADER 01203oam 2200385zu 450 001 9911006975903321 005 20211109143508.0 010 $a1-60119-891-4 024 3 $a9780860141723 035 $a(CKB)1000000000327079 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000071985 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11969637 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000071985 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10093837 035 $a(PQKB)11705703 035 $a(WaSeSS)bw9780860141723 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000327079 100 $a20160829d2007 uy 101 0 $aeng 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aFood Science and Technology Bulletin: Functional Foods Volume 3 210 31$a[Place of publication not identified]$cIFIS Publishing$d2007 215 $a104 p$d11.000x08.250 in 300 $aBibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph 311 $a0-86014-172-1 606 $aEngineering$xFood Science and Technology 615 4$aEngineering$xFood Science and Technology 700 $aGibson$b Glenn R.$00 801 0$bPQKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9911006975903321 996 $aFood Science and Technology Bulletin: Functional Foods Volume 3$94391893 997 $aUNINA
