More everyday ritual and practice - the preparation of food in the home - has been overlooked. Food in Ancient Judah explores both the archaeological remains and ancient Near Eastern sources to see what they reveal about the domestic gastronomical daily life of ancient Judahites within the narratives of the Hebrew Bible. Beyond the findings, the methodology of the study is in itself innovative. Biblical passages that deal with domestic food preparation are translated and analysed. Archaeological findings and relevant secondary resources are then applied to inform these passages. Food in Ancient Judah reflects both the shift towards the study of everyday life in biblical studies and archaeology and the huge expansion of interest in food history - it will be of interest to scholars in all these fields. 410 0$aBible world (London, England) 606 $aFood in the Bible 606 $aFood$xReligious aspects$xJudaism 606 $aJews$xDietary laws 615 0$aFood in the Bible. 615 0$aFood$xReligious aspects$xJudaism. 615 0$aJews$xDietary laws. 676 $a221.8/6413 700 $aShafer-Elliott$b Cynthia$f1975-,$01583201 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910787670503321 996 $aFood in ancient Judah$93866110 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01272nam0 22003011i 450 001 UON00300161 005 20231205104000.425 010 $a07-546-2284-3 100 $a20070905d2002 |0itac50 ba 101 $aeng 102 $aGB 105 $a|||| 1|||| 200 1 $aDissidents of law$eOn the 1989 velvet revolutions, legitimations, finctions of legality and contemporary version of the social contract$fJiri Priban 210 $aAldershot$cDarthmouth$cAshgate$d2002 215 $avii, 236 p.$d23 cm. 606 $aEuropa orientale$xLeggi costituzionali$3UONC066783$2FI 606 $aEuropa orientale$xPolitica e governo$x1989-$3UONC054431$2FI 620 $aGB$dAldershot$3UONL000552 676 $a321.8043$cForme di governo e di stato.
