This book introduces the reader to methods allowing one to build explicit solutions to these equations. A prerequisite task is to investigate whether the chances of success are high or low, and this can be achieved without any a priori knowledge of the solutions, with a powerful algorithm presented in detail called the Painlevé test. If the equation under study passes the Painlevé test, the equation is presumed integrable. If on the contrary the test fails, the system is nonintegrable or even chaotic, but it may still be possible to find solutions. The examples chosen to illustrate these methods are mostly taken from physics. These include on the integrable side the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (continuous and discrete), the Korteweg-de Vries equation, the Hénon-Heiles Hamiltonians, on the nonintegrable side the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation (encountered in optical fibers, turbulence, etc), the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation (phase turbulence), the Kolmogorov-Petrovski-Piskunov equation (KPP, a reaction-diffusion model), the Lorenz model of atmospheric circulation and the Bianchi IX cosmological model. Written at a graduate level, the book contains tutorial text as well as detailed examples and the state of the art on some current research. 606 $aPainleve? equations 606 $aMathematical physics 615 0$aPainleve? equations. 615 0$aMathematical physics. 676 $a515.352 676 $a518/.6 700 $aConte$b Robert$f1943-$0891610 701 $aMusette$b Micheline$0731201 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910782360803321 996 $aThe Painleve? handbook$93768140 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01919nam 2200517 450 001 9910827884503321 005 20230808212434.0 010 $a1-78284-255-1 010 $a1-78284-253-5 035 $a(CKB)3710000000500180 035 $a(EBL)4306794 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001571543 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)16220013 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001571543 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)14330260 035 $a(PQKB)11082102 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4306794 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL4306794 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr11137856 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL848557 035 $a(OCoLC)935255912 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000500180 100 $a20150602d2016 uy| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aWicca $ehistory, belief, and community in modern pagan witchcraft /$fEthan Doyle White 210 1$aChicago :$cSussex Academic Press,$d2016. 215 $a1 online resource (288 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a1-84519-754-2 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aThe craft of the pagan witches -- Wiccan history -- Origins and inspiration -- Gerald gardner -- Gardner's rivals -- Wicca in the usa -- Feminism, gay lib, and the eco-warriors -- The charmed generation -- Belief and praxes -- Wicca as witchcraft -- Wiccan theology -- The coven and the solitary -- Magic and morality -- Wiccan ritual -- The wheel of the year -- Birth, death, and afterlife -- Wiccan life -- Converting to the craft -- The Wiccan community -- Wiccan culture. 606 $aWicca 615 0$aWicca. 676 $a299/.94 700 $aWhite$b Ethan$01610062 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910827884503321 996 $aWicca$93937625 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01637nam2 22003011i 450 001 UON00229127 005 20231205103452.466 100 $a20030730d1980 |0itac50 ba 101 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $a|||| ||||| 200 1 $a Austromarxismo e socialismo di sinistra fra le due guerre$fGiacomo Marramao 205 $a2. ed 210 $aMilano$cLa Pietra$d1980 215 $a359 p.$d21 cm. 461 1$1001UON00177554$12001 $aˆIl ‰ filo rosso del movimento operaio$fa cura di Lelio Basso$1210 $aMilano$cLa Pietra$d1977-1979. 6 v. ; 21 cm.
