These decisions involve balancing current sacrifice against future benefits. People have to decide how much to invest in health care, exercise, their diet, and insurance. They must decide how much debt to take on, and how much to save. And they make choices about jobs that determine employment and unemployment levels. Forward-Looking Decision Making is about modeling this individual or family-based decision making using an optimizing dynamic programming model. Robert Hall first reviews ideas about dynamic programs and introduces new ideas about numerical solutions and the representation of solved models as Markov processes. He surveys recent research on the parameters of preferences--the intertemporal elasticity of substitution, the Frisch elasticity of labor supply, and the Frisch cross-elasticity. He then examines dynamic programming models applied to health spending, long-term care insurance, employment, entrepreneurial risk-taking, and consumer debt. Linking theory with data and applying them to real-world problems, Forward-Looking Decision Making uses dynamic optimization programming models to shed light on individual behaviors and their economic implications. 410 0$aGorman lectures in economics. 606 $aHouseholds$xDecision making$xEconometric models 606 $aFamilies$xDecision making$xEconometric models 606 $aDecision making$xEconometric models 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aHouseholds$xDecision making$xEconometric models. 615 0$aFamilies$xDecision making$xEconometric models. 615 0$aDecision making$xEconometric models. 676 $a330.01/5195 700 $aHall$b Robert Ernest$f1943-$0264868 702 $aBlundell$b Richard, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910456742703321 996 $aForward-looking decision making$92460413 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01100nam0 22002771i 450 001 UON00078113 005 20231205102419.406 100 $a20020107d1967 |0itac50 ba 101 $afre 102 $aFR 105 $a|||| ||||| 200 1 $aArts et peuples de l'Afrique noire$eIntroduction à l'analyse des créations plastiques$fJacqueline Delange 210 $aParis$cGallimard$dc1967 215 $aXXI, 273 p.$d23 cm 410 1$1001UON00041927$12001 $aBibliotheque des Sciences Humaines 606 $aArte$xAfrica Subsahariana$3UONC022449$2FI 620 $aFR$dParis$3UONL002984 676 $a709.67$cARTE - Africa subsahariana$v21 700 1$aDELANGE$bJacqueline$3UONV051294$0216823 712 $aGallimard$3UONV246610$4650 801 $aIT$bSOL$c20250530$gRICA 899 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$2UONSI 912 $aUON00078113 950 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$dSI GEN 0069 $eSI AA 504 5 0069 996 $aArts et peuples de l'Afrique noire$91299816 997 $aUNIOR
