Sans doute ces trois approches méritaient elles d?être explorées tant les contraintes se révèlent nombreuses : l?évolution en continu des plateformes sociales rend délicate la seule évaluation quantitative ; les ancrages territoriaux des établissements pèsent d?une autre manière sur les initiatives entreprises auprès des internautes ; la simplicité du Like, en même temps qu?elle banalise les signes de complicité, est surinvestie par ceux qui se connaissent et s?apprécient déjà. Sur la base d?un corpus de quatre établissements de lecture publique actifs sur les réseaux sociaux (réseaux de Brest et de Metz, médiathèque de Quimperlé et de Louise-Michel à Paris), l?étude Des tweets et des likes en bibliothèque, issue d?une enquête (notamment à base d?entretiens) menée en 2016, propose un bilan en trois volets : les réseaux sociaux numériques permettent aux bibliothèques d?établir une communication moins institutionnelle mais toujours descendante avec leurs publics ; ils instituent des modes de travail plus autonomes et moins hiérarchiques ; ils révèlent une communauté d?usagers très concernés par leur bibliothèque, qu?ils entendent défendre et protéger.
