These libraries were important to both their European sites and their missions; they helped build a global culture as part of early modern European evangelization. When the Society was suppressed, the Jesuits? possessions were seized and redistributed, by transfer to other religious orders, confiscation by governments, or sale to individuals. These possessions were rarely returned, and when, in 1814, the Society was restored, the Jesuits had to begin to build new libraries from scratch. Their practices of librarianship, though not their original libraries, left an intellectual legacy which still informs library science today. While there are few European Jesuit universities left, institutions of higher learning administered by the Society of Jesus remain important to the intellectual development of students and communities around the world, supported by large, rich library collections. 410 0$aBrill Research Perspectives in Humanities and Social Sciences. 410 0$aEarly Modern History and Modern History E-Books Online, Collection 2023. 606 $aBooks$xHistory$y19th century 606 $aLibraries$xHistory$y19th century 606 $aChurch History 615 0$aBooks$xHistory 615 0$aLibraries$xHistory 615 0$aChurch History. 676 $a289.1/794 700 $aComerford$b Kathleen M.$0549042 801 0$bNL-LeKB 801 1$bNL-LeKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910743399803321 996 $aJesuit Libraries$93559830 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02200nam0 22003731i 450 001 UON00045876 005 20231205102206.17 100 $a20020107d1373 |0itac50 ba 101 $aper 102 $aIR 105 $a|||| 1|||| 200 1 $aAdab va honar-e emruz-e Iran$emajmu'e-ye maqalat 1324-1348$fneveste-ye Jalal Al-e Ahmad$gzir-e nazar: Shams Al-e Ahmad$gpazuhes va virayes: Mostafa Zamani Nia 205 $aTehran : Mitra$b1373 210 $a4 v.$a22 cm 215 $aAltro front.: Literature and art in contemporary Iran$ccollection of articles (1945-1969) 510 1$3UON00356374$aLiterature and art in contemporary Iran : collection of articles (1945-1969) 606 $aLETTERATURA PERSIANA$xPERIODO CONTEMPORANEO$xCRITICA LETTERARIA$3UONC013819$2FI 606 $aLETTERATURA PERSIANA$xPERIODO CONTEMPORANEO$xPROSA$xAL-E AHMAD$3UONC005162$2FI 620 $aIR$dTihra?n$3UONL005570 686 $aIRA VI ABZ$cIRAN - LETTERATURA - PERSIANO - CRITICA LETTERARIA - PERIODO MODERNO E CONTEMPORANEO$2A 700 1$aAL-E AHMAD$bJalal$3UONV010589$0638119 702 1$aAL-E AHMAD$bSams$3UONV030094 702 1$aZAMANI NIA$bMostafa$3UONV030095 712 $aM?tr?$3UONV247939$4650 790 1$aAHMAD, Jalal Al-e$zAL-E AHMAD, Jalal$3UONV005112 801 $aIT$bSOL$c20241129$gRICA 912 $aUON00045876 950 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$dSI IRA VI ABZ 050 (1) N $eSI SA 92485 7 050 (1) N 950 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$dSI IRA VI ABZ 050 (2) N $eSI SA 92486 7 050 (2) N 950 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$dSI IRA VI ABZ 050 (3) N $eSI SA 92487 7 050 (3) N 950 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$dSI IRA VI ABZ 050 (4) N $eSI SA 92488 7 050 (4) N 966 $aAL-E AHMAD, Jalal$zLETTERATURA PERSIANA - PERIODO CONTEMPORANEO - PROSA - AL-E AHMAD$3UONC005755 996 $aAdab va honar-e emruz-e Iran$91156267 997 $aUNIOR
