Drawing from numerous European sources - pamphlets, chronicles, and literature - this monograph tries to unravel why and how the alleged freedom fighter became an icon in European thought. It demonstrates that Egmont unfurled an evocative power over several centuries and cultural regions, as his name could be deliberately instrumentalized by different groups of people in order to corroborate their own confessional and political programs. In addition, this book offers the very first systematic study of the phenomenon of mytho-genesis and provides a conceptual model that can be applied to analogous historical myths. 410 0$aBrill's Studies in Intellectual History$v266. 517 3 $aStudy of the figure of Egmont, the Dutch Revolt and its influence in Europe 606 $aStatesmen$zNetherlands$vBiography 606 $aMyth$xPolitical aspects$xHistory 607 $aNetherlands$xHistory$yCharles V, 1506-1555 615 0$aStatesmen 615 0$aMyth$xPolitical aspects$xHistory. 676 $a949.2/02092 700 $aRittersma$b Rengenier C$01190611 801 0$bNL-LeKB 801 1$bNL-LeKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910821451703321 996 $aMytho-poetics at work$93928697 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02044nam0 22003611i 450 001 UON00012794 005 20231205101940.894 100 $a20020107g19331935 |0itac50 ba 101 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $a|||| 1|||| 200 1 $aStoria dei Musulmani di Sicilia$fMichele Amari 205 $aSeconda ed. modificata e accresciuta dall'autore$gpubblicata con note a cura di Carlo Alfonso Nallino 210 $aCatania$cPrampolini$d1933-35 215 $a 2 v.$d25 cm 606 $aSicilia islamica$xStoria$3UONC008115$2FI 620 $aIT$dCatania$3UONL000660 686 $aARA IV$cPAESI ARABI - STORIA$2A 686 $aRARI ARA IV$cRARI - PAESI ARABI - STORIA$2A 700 1$aAmari$bMichele$3UONV006778$0137471 702 1$aNallino$bCarlo Alfonso$3UONV015449$4075 712 $aPrampolini$3UONV247643$4650 801 $aIT$bSOL$c20250110$gRICA 856 4 $uhttp://next.unior.it/sebina/repository/catalogazione/documenti/RARI ARA IV 5 (1) r.pdf$zRARI ARA IV 5 (1) r.pdf 856 4 $uhttp://next.unior.it/sebina/repository/catalogazione/documenti/RARI ARA IV 65 (2) r.pdf$zRARI ARA IV 65 (2) r.pdf 899 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$2UONSI$uhttp://next.unior.it/sebina/repository/catalogazione/documenti/RARI ARA IV 5 (1) r.pdf 899 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$2UONSI$uhttp://next.unior.it/sebina/repository/catalogazione/documenti/RARI ARA IV 65 (2) r.pdf 912 $aUON00012794 950 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$dSI ARA IV 079 (1) bis disperso$eSI AR 2575 7 079 (1) bis disperso$sSmarrito 950 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$dSI RARI ARA IV 065 (1) $eSI SA 11271 7 065 (1) 950 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$dSI RARI ARA IV 065 (2) $eSI MR 1821 7 065 (2) 996 $aStoria dei Musulmani di Sicilia$914292 997 $aUNIOR
