However, a question mark hangs over the extent to which 'special safeguards and care' can negatively impact on the rights of the child and result in discrimination against the child in the guise of 'his physical and mental immaturity'. This volume explores the extent to which children's rights are secured at the national level; and the reasons why children's rights have or have not been recognised and secured by various states at the level of domestic law. It also explores the difficulties inherent in the accordance of rights to children in order to ascertain whether they do in fact derive from the particular nature of children or whether they mask a reluctance of states to fulfil their domestic and international rights obligations to children, and whether such reluctance constitutes 'discrimination against children'. The volume thus explores the theoretical and legal underpinnings of gender and race discrimination, at both the domestic and international level, and examines the extent to which these may be applied to the area of children's rights. 410 0$aInternational studies in human rights ;$vv. 86. 606 $aChildren's rights 606 $aAge discrimination 615 0$aChildren's rights. 615 0$aAge discrimination. 676 $a323.3/52 700 $aBreen$b Claire$0595497 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9911147023003321 996 $aAge discrimination and children's rights$9992813 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03500nam 2200757Ia 450 001 9911142907703321 005 20260415134210.0 010 $a9786611803377 010 $a9781281803375 010 $a1281803375 010 $a9780567451118 010 $a0567451119 035 $a(CKB)1000000000542194 035 $a(EBL)436814 035 $a(OCoLC)276349060 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000522377 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11355415 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000522377 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10527510 035 $a(PQKB)11228453 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000117190 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11141735 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000117190 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10058574 035 $a(PQKB)11551111 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL436814 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10250755 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL180337 035 $a(OCoLC)893334458 035 $a(Perlego)803720 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC436814 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000542194 100 $a19911023d1991 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 14$aThe Canaanites and their land $ethe tradition of the Canaanites /$fNiels Peter Lemche 205 $a1st ed. 210 $aSheffield, England $cJSOT Press$dc1991 215 $a1 online resource (196 p.) 225 1 $aJournal for the study of the Old Testament. Nevertheless, an outspoken hatred against Canaanites permeates the Old Testament. Lemche presents a new way of explaining the anti-Canaanite sentiments of the Old Testament historians, while at the same time disclosing some of the aims and ideas which governed Old Testament history writing. 410 0$aJournal for the study of the Old Testament.$pSupplement series ;$v110. 606 $aCanaanites 606 $aMiddle Eastern literature$xRelation to the Old Testament 607 $aPalestine$xHistory$yTo 70 A.D 615 0$aCanaanites. 615 0$aMiddle Eastern literature$xRelation to the Old Testament. 676 $a221.68 676 $a229/.1 700 $aLemche$b Niels Peter$0925478 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9911142907703321 996 $aThe Canaanites and their land$94871887 997 $aUNINA
