How do women and men with burnout symptoms respond differently to stress? Using functional MRI and the ScanSTRESS paradigm, differences in brain activity and functional connectivity of the amygdala and hippocampus were analyzed. Men showed higher cortisol levels and a positive correlation between cortisol increase and hippocampal activity, whereas in women, this correlation was negative. The results suggest distinct stress processing mechanisms in women and men, even within the same brain structures. The study provides important insights for individualized burnout research, emphasizing the relevance of biological sex differences. About the author Tabea Krause works as a psychologist and neuroscientist at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Her research focuses on human stress processing, particularly in relation to sex differences and the link between endocrine and neural measures. 410 0$aBestMasters,$x2625-3615 606 $aNeuropsychology 606 $aMental health 606 $aSex (Psychology) 606 $aNeuropsychology 606 $aMental Health 606 $aPsychology of Gender and Sexuality 615 0$aNeuropsychology. 615 0$aMental health. 615 0$aSex (Psychology) 615 14$aNeuropsychology. 615 24$aMental Health. 615 24$aPsychology of Gender and Sexuality. 676 $a612.8 700 $aKrause$b Tabea$01850215 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9911031676003321 996 $aAcute Stress Processing in Burnout$94443143 997 $aUNINA
