The global community has achieved some successes, such as eradicating smallpox, but other efforts to coordinate nations' actions, such as the reduction of drug trafficking, have not been sufficient. This book identifies the factors that promote or inhibit successful collective action at the regional and global level for an ever-growing set of challenges stemming from augmented cross-border flows associated with globalization. Modern principles of collective action are identified and applied to a host of global challenges, including promoting global health, providing foreign assistance, controlling rogue nations, limiting transnational terrorism, and intervening in civil wars. Because many of these concerns involve strategic interactions where choices and consequences are dependent on one's own and others' actions, the book relies, in places, on elementary game theory that is fully introduced for the uninitiated reader. 606 $aInternational cooperation 606 $aAlliances 606 $aGlobalization 606 $aPublic goods 606 $aGame theory 606 $aDecision making 615 0$aInternational cooperation. 615 0$aAlliances. 615 0$aGlobalization. 615 0$aPublic goods. 615 0$aGame theory. 615 0$aDecision making. 676 $a327.1/16 700 $aSandler$b Todd$088938 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910784314303321 996 $aGlobal collective action$91057098 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04495nam 22007815 450 001 9911022166403321 005 20250829130209.0 010 $a9783031953064$b(electronic bk.) 010 $z9783031953057 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-031-95306-4 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC32274329 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL32274329 035 $a(CKB)40630396900041 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-031-95306-4 035 $a(OCoLC)1544987879 035 $a(EXLCZ)9940630396900041 100 $a20250829d2025 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aCarbon-Based Nanocomposites for Sustainable Applications, Volume I $eFundamentals and Material Innovations /$fedited by Virat Khanna 205 $a1st ed. 2025. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer Nature Switzerland :$cImprint: Springer,$d2025. 215 $a1 online resource (421 pages) 225 1 $aLecture Notes in Nanoscale Science and Technology,$x2195-2167 ;$v38 311 08$aPrint version: Khanna, Virat Carbon-Based Nanocomposites for Sustainable Applications, Volume I Cham : Springer,c2025 9783031953057 327 $a1 Fabrication Techniques of Carbonaceous Nanomaterial Based Nanocomposites -- 2 Graphene-Based Nanocomposites -- 3 Carbon Nanotubes-Based Nanocomposites: Materials System, Applications and Processing -- 4 Carbon Nanofiber-Based Nanocomposites -- 5 Graphitic Carbon Nitride-Based Nanocomposites -- 6 Carbonized Biomass/Polymer Nanofibers for Sustainable Applications -- 7 Carbon-Based Nanocomposites for Lightweight Composites -- 8 Carbon Nanocomposites for Stealth Technology: Innovations and Perspectives -- 9 Carbon-Based Nanocomposites for 3D Printing -- 10 Applications and Implications of Exploring Carbon-Based Nanocomposites in Sustainable Cities Development -- 11 Carbon-Based Nanocomposites for Wearable Electronics -- 12 The Future of Carbon-Based Nanocomposites in Sustainable Applications -- 13 Challenges and Limitations in the Application of Carbon-Based Nanocomposites. 330 $aThis book presents readers with a comprehensive discussion on carbon-based nanocomposites and their critical role in addressing global sustainability challenges. By bridging the gap between materials science and real-world applications, this book serves as an invaluable resource for academic researchers, engineers, industry professionals, and advanced students in fields such as materials science, engineering, and environmental studies dealing with the unique properties of carbon-based nanomaterials. It provides a detailed view of carbon-based nanocomposites, offering both foundational knowledge and insights into cutting-edge applications that have the potential to drive sustainable progress in the coming years. This Volume One, the first of three, covers the fundamental properties of different types of carbon-based nanocomposites such as graphene, carbon nanotubes, and carbon fibers, as well as exploring various synthesis and characterization techniques. In addition, it describes innovative developments in carbon-based nanocomposites for various applications across renewable energy, environmental sustainability, and advanced manufacturing. . 410 0$aLecture Notes in Nanoscale Science and Technology,$x2195-2167 ;$v38 606 $aNanoscience 606 $aMaterials 606 $aCarbon 606 $aChemistry 606 $aCondensed matter 606 $aSustainability 606 $aFuel cells 606 $aRenewable energy sources 606 $aNanophysics 606 $aCarbon Materials 606 $aTwo-dimensional Materials 606 $aSustainability 606 $aFuel Cells 606 $aRenewable Energy 615 0$aNanoscience. 615 0$aMaterials. 615 0$aCarbon. 615 0$aChemistry. 615 0$aCondensed matter. 615 0$aSustainability. 615 0$aFuel cells. 615 0$aRenewable energy sources. 615 14$aNanophysics. 615 24$aCarbon Materials. 615 24$aTwo-dimensional Materials. 615 24$aSustainability. 615 24$aFuel Cells. 615 24$aRenewable Energy. 676 $a530.41 676 $a620.115 700 $aKhanna$b Virat$01740623 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 912 $a9911022166403321 996 $aCarbon-Based Nanocomposites for Sustainable Applications, Volume I$94429323 997 $aUNINA
