The impact of poor muscle contraction and the decrease in functional capacity on voice are discussed in the context of this syndrome. Similarly, the adverse effect on phonation of the decrease in maximum expiratory force and of dyspnea in patients with fibromyalgia is highlighted. The authors also discuss the laryngeal manifestation of the numerous comorbidities associated with this syndrome, such as chronic fatigue syndrome, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, obesity, sleep apnea, and autonomic nervous system dysfunction. Treatment-induced change in voice quality also is highlighted, and ideas for future research on the link between fibromyalgia and phonation are suggested. Voice Disorders in Fibromyalgia is beneficial for otolaryngologists, laryngologists, family doctors, internists, rheumatologists, speech-language pathologists, phoniatrists, voice therapists, and physiotherapists. 410 0$aMedicine Series 606 $aOtolaryngology 606 $aMedicine 606 $aOtorhinolaryngology 606 $aClinical Medicine 615 0$aOtolaryngology. 615 0$aMedicine. 615 14$aOtorhinolaryngology. 615 24$aClinical Medicine. 676 $a617.51 700 $aHamdan$b Abdul-latif$01241811 701 $aSataloff$b Robert Thayer$01086227 701 $aHawkshaw$b Mary J$01241812 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9911016079603321 996 $aVoice Disorders in Fibromyalgia$94410390 997 $aUNINA
