The proven and suspected roles of microbes does not stop with physical ailments; infections are increasingly being examined as associated causes of or possible contributors to a variety of serious, chronic neuropsychiatric disorders and to developmental problems, especially in children. The Infectious Etiology of Chronic Diseases: Defining the Relationship, Enhancing the Research, and Mitigating the Effects , summarizes a two-day workshop held by the Institute of Medicine (TM)s Forum on Microbial Threats to address this rapidly evolving field. Participants explored factors driving infectious etiologies of chronic diseases of prominence, identified difficulties in linking infectious agents with chronic outcomes, and discussed broad-based strategies and research programs to advance the field. 606 $aChronic diseases$xEtiology$vCongresses 606 $aCommunicable diseases$xEtiology$vCongresses 606 $aCommunicable diseases$xTransmission$vCongresses 606 $aCommunicable diseases 606 $aChronic diseases 606 $aCommunicable Diseases$3(DNLM)D003141 606 $aChronic Disease$3(DNLM)D002908 606 $aCommunicable Diseases$xtransmission$3(DNLM)D003141Q000635 606 $aChronic Disease$xepidemiology$3(DNLM)D002908Q000453 606 $aCommunicable Diseases$xepidemiology$3(DNLM)D003141Q000453 608 $aConference Proceedings. 615 0$aChronic diseases$xEtiology 615 0$aCommunicable diseases$xEtiology 615 0$aCommunicable diseases$xTransmission 615 0$aCommunicable diseases. 615 0$aChronic diseases. 615 2$aCommunicable Diseases. 615 2$aChronic Disease. 615 2$aCommunicable Diseases$xtransmission. 615 2$aChronic Disease$xepidemiology. 615 2$aCommunicable Diseases$xepidemiology. 676 $a616.07/1 701 $aKnobler$b Stacey$01804165 712 02$aInstitute of Medicine (U.S.).$bForum on Microbial Threats. 712 02$aInstitute of Medicine (U.S.).$bBoard on Global Health. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910964140903321 996 $aThe infectious etiology of chronic diseases$94367839 997 $aUNINA
