Solutions are outlined for key societal challenges, including creating new industries and jobs, improving lifelong wellness and human potential, achieving personalized and integrated healthcare and education, and securing a sustainable quality of life for all. This report provides a ten-year ?NBIC2? vision within a longer-term framework for converging technology and human progress that began with a previous study on ?NBIC? fields: nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology, and cognitive science (Roco and Bainbridge, 2003).  This is truly an impressive body of work, which advances a transformative collection of concepts that could impact many areas of society and science. The ideas of this study are exciting.   Tinsley Oden, University of Texas, Austin (April 2013)   The CKTS study presents inspirational ideas behind the concept of convergence and identifies ground-breaking opportunities for human progress through such convergence.   Christos Tokamanis, Nanotechnology and Converging Technologies, EU, Brussels (May 2013)  The study provides a systematic and unified, internationally benchmarked framework for convergence that is relevant to policymakers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and the general public.   Jo-Won Lee, Hanyang University, Korea (June 2013)  I consider .. the first NBIC study in 2001.. as an historical landmark that has caused a new dynamic in the reflection on these new technologies within the broad scientific and governmental community.   Frank Theys, Co-producer for public broadcasters ZDF/ARTE, Germany & France (June 2013). 410 0$aScience Policy Reports,$x2213-1965 606 $aNanotechnology 606 $aEconomic policy 606 $aComputers 606 $aNeurosciences 606 $aBiotechnology 606 $aPhilosophy 606 $aNanotechnology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Z14000 606 $aR & D/Technology Policy$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W43000 606 $aInformation Systems and Communication Service$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I18008 606 $aNeurosciences$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/B18006 606 $aBiotechnology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C12002 606 $aPhilosophy of Technology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/E34050 615 0$aNanotechnology. 615 0$aEconomic policy. 615 0$aComputers. 615 0$aNeurosciences. 615 0$aBiotechnology. 615 0$aPhilosophy. 615 14$aNanotechnology. 615 24$aR & D/Technology Policy. 615 24$aInformation Systems and Communication Service. 615 24$aNeurosciences. 615 24$aBiotechnology. 615 24$aPhilosophy of Technology. 676 $a330.0151 702 $aRoco$b Mihail C.$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aBainbridge$b William Sims$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aTonn$b Bruce E$g(Bruce Edward),$f1955-$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aWhitesides$b George$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910437815003321 996 $aConvergence of Knowledge, Technology and Society$92504187 997 $aUNINA
