Contingent upon the ideology of neo-liberalism, the 4IR seeks to transform societies in ways which respond to the relentless developments in technology, the Internet and digital capacities which, by design and intent, are purposed at increasing both productivity and the associated quality while at the same time reducing human intervention in the same processes. In teacher education, how we teach and train student teachers will be substantially influenced by the imperatives of the 4IR. There are multiple unresolved questions as the 4IR takes centre stage. For example, what will it mean for teaching and learning in schools that have severe technological and digital deficits; for teachers and students who have minimal technological literacies; for delivering high-quality teaching and learning; for transforming both the content and pedagogies of teacher education and, above all, for delivering socially just educational experiences for all our learners, regardless of class, race, and privilege. The discourse of the 4IR is contemporary and requires multiple perspectives to explore what it means in different contexts and settings, the understandings it engenders in people, what it implies across a wide range of educational decision-making levels, and that its fundamental assumptions cohere with national and societal assumptions about equality, equity and social justice. Multiple methodological approaches were utilised in the interrogation of the idea of the 4IR in teacher education in South Africa, including theoretical, empirical, and small-scale case studies, amongst others. The data these approaches provide are equally valued based on the purposes for which they have been derived. 410 0$aDisruptions in higher education: Impact and implication. 606 $aEducational change$zAfrica 615 0$aEducational change 676 $a370.96 700 $aKrishnannair$b Anilkumar$01357263 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910629592803321 996 $aThe 4IR and teacher education in South Africa$93362921 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02164oam 2200613zu 450 001 9911006573303321 005 20260207110031.0 010 $a1-64331-194-8 010 $a1-61583-542-3 035 $a(CKB)3360000000000217 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000403813 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)12154702 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000403813 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10437072 035 $a(PQKB)10049596 035 $a(WaSeSS)Innodata00030852 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC32531501 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL32531501 035 $a(OCoLC)1572097061 035 $a(EXLCZ)993360000000000217 100 $a20160829d2005 uy 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aAdvanced pH measurement and control 205 $a3rd ed. 210 31$a[Place of publication not identified]$cISA$d2005 215 $a1 online resource (319 p.) 225 0 $aInternational Society of Automation Series 300 $aBibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph 311 08$a1-934394-43-2 311 08$a1-55617-851-4 330 $aAdvanced pH Measurement and Control: Digital Twin Synergy and Advances in Technology details system design, installation, maintenance and ongoing improvement, including a special focus on how digital twins and first-principles charge balance contribute to innovation, operability, productivity, reliability and maintainability. 606 $aHydrogen-ion concentration 606 $aChemical process control 606 $aChemistry$2HILCC 606 $aPhysical Sciences & Mathematics$2HILCC 606 $aPhysical & Theoretical Chemistry$2HILCC 615 0$aHydrogen-ion concentration. 615 0$aChemical process control. 615 7$aChemistry 615 7$aPhysical Sciences & Mathematics 615 7$aPhysical & Theoretical Chemistry 676 $a541/.3728 700 $aMcMillan$b Gregory K$01823352 702 $aMcMillan$b Gregory K 702 $aCameron$b Robert A 801 0$bPQKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9911006573303321 996 $aAdvanced pH measurement and control$94390944 997 $aUNINA
