The Social Genesis of an Intellectual Field -- Chapter 2. Twists and Turns -- Chapter 3. The Socialization and Politicization of Épistemologie Historique -- Chapter 4. Addendum Is there a Canon of Italian Historical Epistemology?. 330 $aThis book forms an important part of the current revival of the debate around the category of historical epistemology. The term ?historical epistemology? designates a methodology or research program aimed at building a historically informed theory of knowledge and/or a history of science and technology that enhances its epistemological aspects. This book offers an original panorama of the French debate surrounding the emergence and consolidation of the intellectual program of historical epistemology over a period ranging from the end of the 19th century to the second half of the 20th century. The first section of this book sets out to reconstruct sociologically and historically the processes of circulation of ideas - both nationally and internationally - that constituted the conditions of possibility for the emergence of the very idea of historical epistemology in the French intellectual context. The second section aims instead to highlight the main theoretical positions - both epistemological and historiographical - that would make it possible to trace a relative unity of intent among the authors who make up the canon of historical epistemology (in their oppositional relationship to other intellectual trends). Particular attention is also paid to defining a ?minor canon? of this tradition, represented by what is known as ?mathematical thought?. The third part of the volume focuses instead on reconstructing the anthropological, sociological and political perspectives underlying the methodology employed by authors belonging to historical epistemology. The three parts combined make for a uniquely broad yet focused book that is of interest to historians, philosophers and scientists alike. 410 0$aStudies in History and Philosophy of Science,$x2215-1958 ;$v64 606 $aScience$xHistory 606 $aScience$xPhilosophy 606 $aPolitical science 606 $aHistory of Science 606 $aPhilosophy of Science 606 $aPolitics and International Studies 615 0$aScience$xHistory. 615 0$aScience$xPhilosophy. 615 0$aPolitical science. 615 14$aHistory of Science. 615 24$aPhilosophy of Science. 615 24$aPolitics and International Studies. 676 $a509 700 $aIenna$b Gerardo$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01319703 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910999790703321 996 $aGenesis and Development of French Historical Epistemology$94375531 997 $aUNINA LEADER 05769nam 22005415 450 001 9910999667103321 005 20250416130226.0 010 $a981-9644-07-0 024 7 $a10.1007/978-981-96-4407-0 035 $a(CKB)38484821600041 035 $a(DE-He213)978-981-96-4407-0 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC32011980 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL32011980 035 $a(EXLCZ)9938484821600041 100 $a20250416d2025 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aLearning Technologies and Systems $e23rd International Conference on Web-Based Learning, ICWL 2024 and 9th International Symposium on Emerging Technologies for Education, SETE 2024 Shanghai, China, November 26?28, 2024 Revised Selected Papers /$fedited by Tianyong Hao, Junjie Gavin Wu, Xiangfeng Luo, Yan Sun, Yuanyuan Mu, Shili Ge, Wenxiu Xie 205 $a1st ed. 2025. 210 1$aSingapore :$cSpringer Nature Singapore :$cImprint: Springer,$d2025. 215 $a1 online resource (XIII, 266 p. 72 illus., 51 illus. in color.) 225 1 $aLecture Notes in Computer Science,$x1611-3349 ;$v15589 311 08$a981-9644-06-2 327 $a -- Main. -- Enhancing Linear Algebra Education with AI-Generated Content in the CityU Metaverse: A Comparative Study. -- Ontology-Driven Learning-Progress Tracking Tool in an Adaptive Virtual Learning Environment. -- A Model for Evaluating the Effectiveness of E-learning Courses Based on Indicators of Course Quality and Time Spent by the Learners. -- Towards Effective Collaborative Learning in Edu-Metaverse: A Study on Learners?
