This is achieved through the use of two distinct forms of otherization: 'upward' othering, which targets the establishment elites and their associates, and 'downward' othering, which involves demeaning and scapegoating certain out-groups or external outsiders. The Handbook takes a multidisciplinary approach and focuses on recent real-world expressions of right-wing populist tactics to justify, strengthen, or instrumentalize alterity narratives and claims. It provides a comprehensive analysis of manifestations of right-wing populism othering from diverse cases and variations around the world with a particular emphasis on including examples from the Global South. Chapters address key issues like natural resources and environmental economics, while presenting a wide and integrative view of aesthetic, psychological, social and political perspectives, and applying a critical use of economic concepts and challenges to different schools of thought on the landscape. This new edition includes new ideas and critiques on environmental valuation; more focused critiques of stated preference methods, political alternatives to economic valuation, and of the rationale of discounting future values; and, new evaluative techniques, particularly price premia for products with a landscape provenance. The updates are a major contribution to the growing literature in the field. 606 $aEnvironmental economics 606 $aHuman geography 606 $aUrban economics 606 $aEnvironmental Economics 606 $aHuman Geography 606 $aUrban Economics 615 0$aEnvironmental economics. 615 0$aHuman geography. 615 0$aUrban economics. 615 14$aEnvironmental Economics. 615 24$aHuman Geography. 615 24$aUrban Economics. 676 $a333.7 700 $aPrice$b Colin$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0124588 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910255050003321 996 $aLandscape Economics$92149566 997 $aUNINA
