Accordingly, the contributions explore different facets of what we term "Irish minority and dissident identities," ranging from political agitators drowned out by mainstream narratives of nationhood, to identities differentiated from the majority in terms of ethnicity, religion, class and health; and sexual minorities that challenge heteronormative perspectives on marriage, contraception, abortion, and divorce. At a moment when transnational democracy and the rights of minorities seem to be at risk, a book of this nature seems more pressing than ever. In different ways, the essays gathered here remind us of the importance of 'rethinking' nationhood, by a process of denaturalisation of the supremacy of white heterosexual structures. 410 0$aNew Directions in Irish and Irish American Literature,$x2731-3190 606 $aEuropean literature 606 $aLiterature 606 $aLiterature, Modern$y20th century 606 $aLiterature, Modern$y21st century 606 $aEuropean Literature 606 $aWorld Literature 606 $aContemporary Literature 606 $aTwentieth-Century Literature 615 0$aEuropean literature. 615 0$aLiterature. 615 0$aLiterature, Modern 615 0$aLiterature, Modern 615 14$aEuropean Literature. 615 24$aWorld Literature. 615 24$aContemporary Literature. 615 24$aTwentieth-Century Literature. 676 $a320.5409415 702 $aVillar-Argáiz$b Pilar$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910300018503321 996 $aIrishness on the Margins$92274781 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02111nam 2200637 a 450 001 9910973058003321 005 20251116182734.0 010 $a0-300-16375-4 024 7 $a10.12987/9780300163759 035 $a(CKB)2550000001113280 035 $a(EBL)3421269 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000980662 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)12422552 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000980662 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10968844 035 $a(PQKB)11346559 035 $a(StDuBDS)EDZ0000175617 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3421269 035 $a(DE-B1597)486273 035 $a(OCoLC)857463304 035 $a(DE-B1597)9780300163759 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3421269 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10752505 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL513145 035 $z(OCoLC)857463304 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000001113280 100 $a20130403d2013 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aAdam Smith's pluralism $erationality, education, and the moral sentiments /$fJack Russell Weinstein 210 $aNew Haven $cYale University Press$d2013 215 $a1 online resource (360 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$a0-300-16253-7 311 08$a1-299-81894-3 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $apt. 1.
