This book provides an innovative contribution to the study of the Responsibility to Protect and Kantian political theory.

The Responsibility to Protect (R2P) doctrine has been heralded as the new international security norm to ensure the protection of peoples against genocide, ethnic cleansing, war crimes and crimes against humanity. Yet, for all of the discussion, endorsements and reaffirmations of this new norm, R2P continues to come under fire for its failures, particularly, and most recently, in the case of Syria.

This book argues that a duty to protect is best consi 410 0$aGlobal Politics and the Responsibility to Protect 606 $aResponsibility to protect (International law) 606 $aJustice 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aResponsibility to protect (International law) 615 0$aJustice. 676 $a327.117 700 $aRoff$b Heather$f1980-,$0986585 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910452290003321 996 $aGlobal justice, Kant and the responsibility to protect$92254822 997 $aUNINA LEADER 05780nam 22007095 450 001 9911034856503321 005 20251013130436.0 010 $a3-032-04141-4 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-032-04141-8 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC32344484 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL32344484 035 $a(CKB)41633857200041 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-032-04141-8 035 $a(EXLCZ)9941633857200041 100 $a20251013d2025 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aClimate Resilient and Sustainable Agriculture: Volume 2 $eSocial and Transformative Strategies /$fedited by Mukhtar Ahmed 205 $a1st ed. 2025. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer Nature Switzerland :$cImprint: Springer,$d2025. 215 $a1 online resource (623 pages) 225 1 $aAdvances in Global Change Research,$x2215-1621 ;$v82 311 08$a3-032-04140-6 327 $aClimate-resilient strategies for sustainable management of water resources and agriculture -- Soil Health and Carbon Sequestration in Agricultural Systems Under Changing Climate -- Addressing Wheat Yellow Rust in a Changing Climate -- Biochar-Soil-Plant interactions: A cross talk for sustainable agriculture under changing climate -- Microbial Activity Involved in Nitrous Oxide Emissions from Soil -- Emerging plant Disease prediction through forewarning model and artificial Intelligence (AI) under climate change scenario -- Enhancing Climate Resilience in Sugarcane: A Review of Physiological and Molecular Responses to Water Stress -- Mitigating and adapting to climate change through climate-smart agriculture -- Ensuring biodiversity maintenance and food security through sustainable intensification: an environment-friendly approach -- Next-Gen Agriculture: How AI-Driven 3D Farming Builds Resilience Against Global Food Crises -- The Role of Digital Agriculture in Mitigating Climate Change and Ensuring Food Security: An Overview -- Harnessing Digital Agriculture to Combat Climate Change and Feed the Future -- Heavy Metals Pollution and Role of Soil PGPR: A Mitigation Approach -- Climate Resilient Floriculture: Adapting Cut Flower and Foliage Production to a Changing Climate -- Integrated Desert Farming -- Ripple Effect: The Role of Climate Change Anxiety, Nature Connectedness, and Pro-Environmental Behavior in Building Climate Resilience and Mitigating Psychological Distress Among Flood-Affected and Non-Affected Youth -- Connecting Climate-Resilient Farming Practices with Regenerative Agriculture for Enhancing Productivity, Profitability, and Environmental Security -- Climate change, Extension services and the viability of smallholder agriculture: Voices of Communal Farmers in Lupane, Zimbabwe. 330 $aThis book aims to provide a holistic and interdisciplinary understanding of the social, ecological, technological, and psychological dimensions of climate-resilient agriculture. The major focus of this volume is to highlight people-centered adaptation strategies, the role of digital tools and local innovations, and the mental and community well-being aspects in response to climate change impacts on agriculture. In the context of intensifying climate variability, sustainable agriculture must evolve beyond biophysical interventions to include the human and institutional factors that determine resilience. This volume explores themes such as climate-resilient water and soil management, AI-enabled prediction of crop diseases, biochar and microbial innovations, and floriculture under stress. It features specialized content on digital agriculture, 3D farming, and socio-behavioral responses to climate change, including an in-depth study on climate anxiety among youth. Other chapters address sustainable intensification, gender-sensitive approaches, smallholder farmer viability, desert agriculture, and the integration of Indigenous knowledge and extension systems. These themes are supported by empirical case studies, regional evaluations, and conceptual frameworks aimed at driving transformative adaptation. This book is of interest to climate scientists, agricultural researchers, social scientists, extension workers, environmental psychologists, development practitioners, and policy makers working at the intersection of agriculture and climate change. It will also serve as a reference for undergraduate and postgraduate students in disciplines such as agriculture, environmental science, rural sociology, ecology, psychology, and sustainable development. 410 0$aAdvances in Global Change Research,$x2215-1621 ;$v82 606 $aBioclimatology 606 $aSubsistence farming 606 $aSustainability 606 $aClimatology 606 $aEnvironmental management 606 $aFinancial risk management 606 $aClimate Change Ecology 606 $aSubsistence Agriculture 606 $aSustainability 606 $aClimate Sciences 606 $aEnvironmental Management 606 $aRisk Management 615 0$aBioclimatology. 615 0$aSubsistence farming. 615 0$aSustainability. 615 0$aClimatology. 615 0$aEnvironmental management. 615 0$aFinancial risk management. 615 14$aClimate Change Ecology. 615 24$aSubsistence Agriculture. 615 24$aSustainability. 615 24$aClimate Sciences. 615 24$aEnvironmental Management. 615 24$aRisk Management. 676 $a577.22 700 $aAhmed$b Mukhtar$01437389 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9911034856503321 996 $aClimate Resilient and Sustainable Agriculture: Volume 2$94450599 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03760nam 2200817Ia 450 001 9910973015803321 005 20250513225739.0 010 $a9786613297174 010 $a9780823235698 010 $a0823235696 010 $a9781283297172 010 $a1283297175 010 $a9780823238392 010 $a0823238393 010 $a9780823233007 010 $a0823233006 024 7 $a10.1515/9780823238392 035 $a(CKB)2560000000051125 035 $a(EBL)976984 035 $a(OCoLC)801363450 035 $a(StDuBDS)EDZ0000021363 035 $a(OCoLC)680628937 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)muse15148 035 $a(DE-B1597)555060 035 $a(DE-B1597)9780823238392 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3239534 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10420277 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL329717 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL4704260 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3239534 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC976984 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4704260 035 $a(Perlego)535910 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL976984 035 $a(EXLCZ)992560000000051125 100 $a20100323d2010 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 14$aThe doppelgänger $eliterature's philosophy /$fDimitris Vardoulakis 205 $a1st ed. 210 $aNew York $cFordham University Press$dc2010 215 $a1 online resource (344 p.) 225 1 $aModern Language Initiative 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$a9780823232994 311 08$a0823232999 311 08$a9780823232987 311 08$a0823232980 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $tFrontmatter -- $tContents -- $tPreface -- $tPreamble, or An Other Opening -- $tIntroduction, or The Reflections of the Doppelgänger -- $tChapter One. The genesis of the Doppelgänger is literature's response to the philosophical focus on subjectivity. The Doppelgänger was coined by the German author Jean Paul in 1796 as a critique of Idealism's assertion of subjective autonomy, individuality and human agency. This critique prefigures post-War extrapolations of the subject as decentred. From this perspective, the Doppelgänger has a "family resemblance" to current conceptualizations of subjectivity. It becomes the emblematic subject of modernity. This is the first significant study on the Doppelgänger's influence on philosophical thought. The Doppelgänger emerges as a hidden and unexplored element both in conceptions of subjectivity and in philosophy's relation to literature. Vardoulakis demonstrates this by employing the Doppelgänger to read literature philosophically and to read philosophy as literature. The Doppelgänger then appears instrumental in the self-conception of both literature and philosophy. 410 0$aModern Language Initiative 606 $aLiterature$xPhilosophy 606 $aPhilosophy 606 $aSubject (Philosophy) 615 0$aLiterature$xPhilosophy. 615 0$aPhilosophy. 615 0$aSubject (Philosophy) 676 $a190 676 $a190 700 $aVardoulakis$b Dimitris$01818509 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910973015803321 996 $aThe doppelgänger$94377700 997 $aUNINA
