Given limited federal involvement, privately funded hES cell research has thus far been carried out under a patchwork of existing regulations, many of which were not designed with this research specifically in mind. In addition, hES cell research touches on many ethical, legal, scientific, and policy issues that are of concern to the public. This report provides guidelines for the conduct of hES cell research to address both ethical and scientific concerns. The guidelines are intended to enhance the integrity of privately funded hES cell research by encouraging responsible practices in the conduct of that research. 606 $aEmbryonic stem cells$xResearch 606 $aHuman embryo$xResearch 615 0$aEmbryonic stem cells$xResearch. 615 0$aHuman embryo$xResearch. 676 $a616/.02774 712 02$aNational Research Council (U.S.).$bCommittee on Guidelines for Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research. 712 02$aInstitute of Medicine (U.S.).$bBoard on Health Sciences Policy. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910971982403321 996 $aGuidelines for human embryonic stem cell research$94354711 997 $aUNINA
