ESP corpora for language teaching and learning. 330 $aCorpus linguistics is commonly concerned with language description, but the tools and techniques can also be used by language learners themselves in what has come to be known as data-driven learning or DDL (Johns & King 1991). This paper reviews 20 studies representing empirical evaluations of corpus use by second or foreign language users within the context of ESP. The wide variety of tools, corpora, course objectives, experiment designs and research questions makes a thorough meta-analysis impossible. However, analysis of the individual papers shows that students can use corpora successfully for ESP and are generally favourable to the approach, whether as a learning tool (especially for vocabulary and lexico-grammar) or as a reference resource (especially for writing). Keywords: data-driven learning; corpus consultation; language learning; empirical evidence; learning outcomes. 410 0$aStudies in corpus linguistics ;$vv. 52. 606 $aEnglish language$xStudy and teaching$xForeign speakers 606 $aEnglish language$xStudy and teaching$xData processing 606 $aEnglish language$xDiscourse analysis$xData processing 606 $aComputational linguistics 615 0$aEnglish language$xStudy and teaching$xForeign speakers. 615 0$aEnglish language$xStudy and teaching$xData processing. 615 0$aEnglish language$xDiscourse analysis$xData processing. 615 0$aComputational linguistics. 676 $a428.0071 701 $aBoulton$b Alex$01163322 701 $aCarter-Thomas$b Shirley$01163323 701 $aRowley-Jolivet$b Elizabeth$01799764 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910971841503321 996 $aCorpus-informed research and learning in ESP$94344165 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02048nam 22004453 450 001 9911007268303321 005 20241002084505.0 010 $a1-56990-876-1 010 $a1-5231-4513-7 010 $a1-56990-875-3 035 $a(CKB)5850000000031672 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6998873 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL6998873 035 $a(EXLCZ)995850000000031672 100 $a20241002d2022 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aFundamentals of Fiber Orientation $eDescription, Measurement and Prediction 205 $a1st ed. 210 1$aMünchen :$cHanser,$d2022. 210 4$dİ2022. 215 $a1 online resource (0 pages) 330 $a"The primary focus of this unique book is fiber orientation: how to describe it mathematically, how to measure it experimentally, and how to predict it using the models used in commercial software. It also covers the description, measurement, and modeling of fiber length, another important variable that can be predicted by commercial software. The connection between fiber orientation and mechanical properties is explained, as is the relationship between fiber orientation and rheological properties in the fluid state. Fundamentals of Fiber Orientation focuses on the models used in current engineering practice, but also discusses a few topics from current research that could transition to engineering practice soon."--$cTitle details screen. 606 $aFibrous composites 606 $aFibrous composites$xData processing 606 $aFibrous composites$xMathematical models 615 0$aFibrous composites. 615 0$aFibrous composites$xData processing. 615 0$aFibrous composites$xMathematical models. 700 $aIII$b Charles L.
