Panel (System GMM) regressions: The effect of developmental aid on growth 330 3 $aWe analyze the growth impact of official development assistance to developing countries. Our approach is different from that of previous studies in two major ways. First, we disentangle the effects of two kinds of aid: developmental and non-developmental. Second, our specifications allow for the effect of aid on economic growth to occur over long periods. Our results indicate that developmental aid promotes long-run growth. The effect is significant, large and robust to different specifications and estimation techniques. 410 0$aIMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;$vNo. 2009/118 606 $aEconomic assistance$zDeveloping countries 606 $aEconomic development$zDeveloping countries 606 $aAid flows$2imf 606 $aBilateral aid$2imf 606 $aDevelopment assistance$2imf 606 $aEconomic assistance$2imf 606 $aExports and Imports$2imf 606 $aForeign Aid$2imf 606 $aForeign aid$2imf 606 $aIncome$2imf 606 $aInternational economics$2imf 606 $aInternational relief$2imf 606 $aMacroeconomics$2imf 606 $aPersonal income$2imf 606 $aPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their Distributions$2imf 607 $aCongo, Democratic Republic of the$2imf 615 0$aEconomic assistance 615 0$aEconomic development 615 7$aAid flows 615 7$aBilateral aid 615 7$aDevelopment assistance 615 7$aEconomic assistance 615 7$aExports and Imports 615 7$aForeign Aid 615 7$aForeign aid 615 7$aIncome 615 7$aInternational economics 615 7$aInternational relief 615 7$aMacroeconomics 615 7$aPersonal income 615 7$aPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their Distributions 676 $a332.1/52 700 $aReddy$b Sanjay$0602369 701 $aMinoiu$b Camelia$0874355 712 02$aInternational Monetary Fund. 712 02$aIMF Institute. 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910970778003321 996 $aDevelopment Aid and Economic Growth$94371371 997 $aUNINA
