Concluding Remarks 330 3 $aThis paper examines the effects of IMF financial assistance on economic governance in developing countries, based on panel data analyses of perceived governance indicators. It uses a two-stage approach to address possible endogeneity issues. The results show that successful implementation of IMF programs is associated with improvements in the quality of economic governance. Specifically, the paper finds statistically robust results that IMF concessional programs through the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility tend to enhance the rule of law and strengthen control of corruption. Through this exercise, however, no statistically significant effect is observed for assistances under the General Resource Account. 410 0$aIMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;$vNo. 2008/114 606 $aEconomic assistance$zDeveloping countries$xEconometric models 606 $aEconomic development$zDeveloping countries$xEconometric models 606 $aAdministrative Processes in Public Organizations$2imf 606 $aBanking$2imf 606 $aBanks and Banking$2imf 606 $aBanks and banking$2imf 606 $aBanks$2imf 606 $aBureaucracy$2imf 606 $aCorporate crime$2imf 606 $aCorruption$2imf 606 $aCriminology$2imf 606 $aDepository Institutions$2imf 606 $aDiscrete Regression and Qualitative Choice Models$2imf 606 $aDiscrete Regressors$2imf 606 $aEconometric models$2imf 606 $aEconometrics & economic statistics$2imf 606 $aEconometrics$2imf 606 $aIncome$2imf 606 $aLegal support in revenue administration$2imf 606 $aMacroeconomics$2imf 606 $aMicro Finance Institutions$2imf 606 $aMortgages$2imf 606 $aPersonal income$2imf 606 $aPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their Distributions$2imf 606 $aProbit models$2imf 606 $aProportions$2imf 606 $aPublic finance & taxation$2imf 606 $aPublic Finance$2imf 606 $aRevenue$2imf 606 $aTaxation, Subsidies, and Revenue: General$2imf 606 $aWhite-collar crime$2imf 607 $aMontenegro$2imf 615 0$aEconomic assistance$xEconometric models. 615 0$aEconomic development$xEconometric models. 615 7$aAdministrative Processes in Public Organizations 615 7$aBanking 615 7$aBanks and Banking 615 7$aBanks and banking 615 7$aBanks 615 7$aBureaucracy 615 7$aCorporate crime 615 7$aCorruption 615 7$aCriminology 615 7$aDepository Institutions 615 7$aDiscrete Regression and Qualitative Choice Models 615 7$aDiscrete Regressors 615 7$aEconometric models 615 7$aEconometrics & economic statistics 615 7$aEconometrics 615 7$aIncome 615 7$aLegal support in revenue administration 615 7$aMacroeconomics 615 7$aMicro Finance Institutions 615 7$aMortgages 615 7$aPersonal income 615 7$aPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their Distributions 615 7$aProbit models 615 7$aProportions 615 7$aPublic finance & taxation 615 7$aPublic Finance 615 7$aRevenue 615 7$aTaxation, Subsidies, and Revenue: General 615 7$aWhite-collar crime 676 $a353.00722 700 $aHonda$b Jiro?$00 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910970757503321 996 $aDo IMF Programs Improve Economic Governance$94348943 997 $aUNINA
