He draws on critical theory, whiteness and cultural studies to counter an eager correlation between marginality and agency. The nonconformist cultural politics of these border crossings implode since the transgressive identity the protagonists desire relies upon, is built from, the center's values and definitions. An orthodox notion of individualism underpins each act of sovereignty as it rationalizes exploiting stereotypes of an Other constructed by the center. The work closes by positing a theory of identity based on Jean-Luc Nancy's concept of the emptied self. In recognizing the already mixed quality of being, identity is made a vacuous concept as the standards for determining self and difference become too slippery to hold. 606 $aEthnology 606 $aCulture 606 $aLiterature$xPhilosophy 606 $aCulture$xStudy and teaching 606 $aLiterature, Modern$y19th century 606 $aLiterature, Modern$y20th century 606 $aRegional Cultural Studies 606 $aLiterary Theory 606 $aCultural Theory 606 $aNineteenth-Century Literature 606 $aTwentieth-Century Literature 606 $aCultural Studies 615 0$aEthnology. 615 0$aCulture. 615 0$aLiterature$xPhilosophy. 615 0$aCulture$xStudy and teaching. 615 0$aLiterature, Modern 615 0$aLiterature, Modern 615 14$aRegional Cultural Studies. 615 24$aLiterary Theory. 615 24$aCultural Theory. 615 24$aNineteenth-Century Literature. 615 24$aTwentieth-Century Literature. 615 24$aCultural Studies. 676 $a810.9/353 700 $aTraber$b Daniel S$01791130 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910970096903321 996 $aWhiteness, Otherness and the Individualism Paradox from Huck to Punk$94328029 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01187nam0 22002891i 450 001 UON00322321 005 20231205104145.564 010 $a91-7346-541-0 100 $a20090325d2005 |0itac50 ba 101 $aeng 102 $aSE 105 $a|||| ||||| 200 1 $aDiscourse connectives in arabic lecturing monologue$fby Helene Kammensjo 210 $aGoteborg$cActa Universitatis Gothoburgensis$dc2005 215 $a219 p.$cill.$d23 cm 410 1$1001UON00066109$12001 $aOrientalia et Africana Gothoburgensia$fJan Retso, editor$v19 606 $aLingua araba$xStudi$3UONC020815$2FI 620 $aSE$dGöteborg$3UONL000682 676 $a492.709$cSTORIA DELLA LINGUA ARABA$v21 700 1$aKAMMENSJO$bHeléne$3UONV185027$0699314 712 $aActa Universitatis Gothoburgensis$3UONV252694$4650 801 $aIT$bSOL$c20250502$gRICA 899 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$2UONSI 912 $aUON00322321 950 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$dSI II C 060 $eSI AA 29767 5 060 996 $aDiscourse connectives in arabic lecturing monologue$91370837 997 $aUNIOR LEADER 03742nam 22007455 450 001 9910896194803321 005 20250807130525.0 010 $a9783658458270 010 $a3658458275 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-658-45827-0 035 $a(CKB)36315677000041 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC31713272 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL31713272 035 $a(OCoLC)1459869938 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-658-45827-0 035 $a(EXLCZ)9936315677000041 100 $a20241008d2024 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aPassion and Profit $eThe Dynamics of Soccer Fandom and Management /$fby Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger 205 $a1st ed. 2024. 210 1$aWiesbaden :$cSpringer Fachmedien Wiesbaden :$cImprint: Springer,$d2024. 215 $a1 online resource (94 pages) 225 1 $aBusiness Guides on the Go,$x2731-4766 311 08$a9783658458263 311 08$a3658458267 327 $aSoccer fandom: a popular research topic -- 2. Fan communities are spaces for integration and identity formation, but also for exclusion and demarcation. Moreover, the author highlights the resistance of active soccer fan scene towards increasing commercialization of their sport and their skeptical view of powerful institutions. This book therefore emphasizes that the goal of club management should be to develop fans from stakeholders to stakeowners, so that they can take on responsibility as equal participants in club affairs. The author, Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger, introduces the fundamentals of the "fan" phenomenon and outlines paths towards greater transparency and integrity, as well as productive dialogue between clubs and fan communities. This book is targeted at academics, sports managers, and soccer enthusiasts interested in the intersection of fan culture, club management, and the socio-political dimensions of sports. 410 0$aBusiness Guides on the Go,$x2731-4766 606 $aSports$xEconomic aspects 606 $aAudiences 606 $aSports$xSociological aspects 606 $aIndustrial organization 606 $aSports$xPsychological aspects 606 $aDiversity in the workplace 606 $aSports Economics 606 $aFan and Audience Studies 606 $aSport Sociology 606 $aOrganization 606 $aSport Psychology 606 $aDiversity Management and Women in Business 615 0$aSports$xEconomic aspects. 615 0$aAudiences. 615 0$aSports$xSociological aspects. 615 0$aIndustrial organization. 615 0$aSports$xPsychological aspects. 615 0$aDiversity in the workplace. 615 14$aSports Economics. 615 24$aFan and Audience Studies. 615 24$aSport Sociology. 615 24$aOrganization. 615 24$aSport Psychology. 615 24$aDiversity Management and Women in Business. 676 $a306.483 700 $aHanappi-Egger$b Edeltraud$01768181 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910896194803321 996 $aPassion and Profit$94221599 997 $aUNINA
