The committee calls for the EPA and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to establish a joint council to coordinate and oversee short - and long-term research to estimate emissions from animal feeding operations accurately and to develop mitigation strategies. Their recommendation was for the joint council to focus its efforts first on those pollutants that pose the greatest risk to the environment and public health. 606 $aAnimal feeding$xEnvironmental aspects$zUnited States 606 $aFeedlots$xEnvironmental aspects$zUnited States 606 $aAnimal industry$xEnvironmental aspects$zUnited States 606 $aOdors 606 $aAir$xPollution$zUnited States 606 $aAgricultural pollution$xResearch$zUnited States 615 0$aAnimal feeding$xEnvironmental aspects 615 0$aFeedlots$xEnvironmental aspects 615 0$aAnimal industry$xEnvironmental aspects 615 0$aOdors. 615 0$aAir$xPollution 615 0$aAgricultural pollution$xResearch 676 $a363.73920973 712 02$aNational Research Council (U.S.).$bAd Hoc Committee on Air Emissions from Animal Feeding Operations. 712 02$aNational Research Council (U.S.).$bBoard on Environmental Studies and Toxicology. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910969853503321 996 $aAir emissions from animal feeding operations$94361515 997 $aUNINA
