Adopting an interdisciplinary research between Greco-Roman philosophy and social ethics in early Christianity, Junghun Bae pursues a giver-centered analysis which has largely been ignored in the previous research. He argues that for Chrysostom almsgiving is one of the most powerful remedies for healing sick souls. The concept of Christianized soul therapy is a new key framework for understanding his approach to almsgiving holistically and has the potential to off er a new reading of the discourse on almsgiving in late antiquity. 410 0$aPatristic Studies in Global Perspective ;$v1. 606 $aAlmsgiving 606 $aEarly Church 606 $aLate Antiquity 606 $aAntioch 606 $aConstantinople 606 $aMonasticism 606 $aGreek Patristics 615 4$aAlmsgiving 615 4$aEarly Church 615 4$aLate Antiquity 615 4$aAntioch 615 4$aConstantinople 615 4$aMonasticism 615 4$aGreek Patristics 676 $a230 700 $aBae$b Junghun$4aut$01836413 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910968523503321 996 $aJohn Chrysostom$94414523 997 $aUNINA
