Whereas most studies over the past fifty years have regarded the book's free translation style as betraying the translator's conviction that Isaiah's oracles were being fulfilled in his day, this study argues that he was primarily interested in offering his Greek-speaking co-religionists a cohesive representation of Isaiah's ideas. Comparison of the translator's interpretative tacks with those employed by the grammatikoi in their study of Homer offers a convincing picture of his work as an Alexandrian Jew and clarifies how this translation should be assessed in reconstructing early textual forms of Hebrew Isaiah. 410 0$aSupplements to the Journal for the study of Judaism ;$vv. 124. 608 $aElectronic books. 676 $a224/.10486 700 $aTroxel$b Ronald L.$f1951-$0959207 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910453924803321 996 $aLXX-Isaiah as translation and interpretation$92173342 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03396nam 2200721Ia 450 001 9910967829803321 005 20251117083855.0 010 $a1-136-67059-9 010 $a1-280-67017-7 010 $a9786613647108 010 $a0-203-80873-8 010 $a1-136-67060-2 024 7 $a10.4324/9780203808733 035 $a(CKB)2670000000203606 035 $a(EBL)957820 035 $a(OCoLC)798531435 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000678364 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11457374 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000678364 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10699931 035 $a(PQKB)10185717 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC957820 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL957820 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10566823 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL364710 035 $a(OCoLC)797835169 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000203606 100 $a20120612e20121987 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 14$aThe micro-politics of the school $etowards a theory of school organization /$fStephen J. He rejects a prescriptive 'top down' approach and directly addresses the interest and concerns of teachers and current problems facing schools. In doing so he raises question about the adequacy and appropriateness of the existing forms of organizational control in schools. Through case studies and interviews with teachers, the book captures the flavour of real conflicts in schools - particularly in times of falling rolls, change of leadership or amalgamations - when teachers' auton 410 0$aRoutledge library editions.$pEducation. 606 $aHigh schools$zGreat Britain$xAdministration 606 $aOrganizational change$zGreat Britain 606 $aSchool management and organization$zGreat Britain 615 0$aHigh schools$xAdministration. 615 0$aOrganizational change 615 0$aSchool management and organization 676 $a371.2 676 $a371.2/00941 676 $a371.200941 700 $aBall$b Stephen J$0143999 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910967829803321 996 $aThe micro-politics of the school$94496790 997 $aUNINA
