Callie Williamson's book, The Law of the Roman People, finds that the key to Rome's survival and growth during the most formative period of empire, roughly 350 to 44 B.C.E., lies in its hitherto enigmatic public lawmaking assemblies which helped extend Roman influence and control. Williamson bases her rigorous and innovative work on the entire body of surviving laws preserved in ancient reports of proposed and enacted legislation from these public assemblies. 410 0$aACLS Humanities E-Book. 606 $aPublic law (Roman law) 607 $aRome$xPolitics and government 615 0$aPublic law (Roman law) 676 $a342.45/632 700 $aWilliamson$b Callie$0309415 712 02$aMichigan Publishing (University of Michigan), 801 0$bMiU 801 1$bMiU 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910966654903321 996 $aThe laws of the Roman people$92070068 997 $aUNINA
