Until the 18th century Jews lived in Christian Europe, spiritually and often physically removed form the stream of European culture. During the Enlightenment intellectual Europe accepted a philosophy which, by the universality of its ideals, reached out to embrace the Jew within the greater community of man. The Jew began to feel European, and his traditional identity became a problem for the first time. the response of the Jewish intellectual leadership in Germany to this crisis is the subject of this book. Chief among those men who struggled with the problems of Jewish consciousness were Moses Mendelssohn, David Friedlander, Leopold Zunz, Eduard Gans, and Heinrich Heine. By 1824, liberal Judaism had not yet produced a vision of it future as a separate entity within European society, but it had been exposed to and grappled with all the significant problems that still confront the Jew in the West. 606 $aJudaism$zGermany 606 $aJews$zGermany$xIdentity 606 $aJews$zGermany$xIntellectual life 615 0$aJudaism 615 0$aJews$xIdentity. 615 0$aJews$xIntellectual life. 676 $a910.03/174/924 700 $aMeyer$b Michael A$0282115 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910966520903321 996 $aThe origins of the modern Jew$94357535 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03569oam 2200661I 450 001 9910962498103321 005 20251116193842.0 010 $a0-429-92387-2 010 $a0-429-90964-0 010 $a0-367-10231-5 010 $a0-429-48487-9 010 $a1-78241-194-1 035 $a(CKB)2550000001169622 035 $a(EBL)1580117 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001170921 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11742079 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001170921 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11176228 035 $a(PQKB)10431467 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1580117 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL1580117 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10821628 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL551607 035 $a(OCoLC)865653966 035 $a(OCoLC)878916415 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000001169622 100 $a20180611h20182014 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aWhat makes us stay together? $eattachment and the outcomes of couple relationships /$fby Rosetta Castellano 205 $a1st ed. 210 1$aBoca Raton, FL :$cRoutledge, an imprint of Taylor and Francis,$d[2018]. 210 4$d©2014. 215 $a1 online resource (175 p.) 225 1 $aThe library of couple and family psychoanalysis 300 $aFirst published in Italian in 2010 as Cosa ci fa restare insieme? Now, more than ever, and prompted by changes that have shaken our assumptions about socio/cultural context, the reasons that make couple relationships unstable are sought in the negotiations and redefinitions required by the changes themselves. New types of families are emerging and consequently new issues are being raised about the dynamics of family relationships. This book underlines the role of attachment as a central motivational system in couple relationships, and focuses on the relationship between past and present experiences in determining choices, perceptions, and feelings in couple relationships. It considers what other motivational systems interact with attachment in constituting a couple's dynamics, and looks at aspects more directly experienced by couples: in particular, how they feel about their relationship, especially in terms of the degree of intimacy between them (something that attachment theorists might look at in evaluating how "good" a relationship is) 410 0$aLibrary of couple and family psychoanalysis. 606 $aAttachment behavior 606 $aLove 615 0$aAttachment behavior. 615 0$aLove. 676 $a362.7 676 $a362.77912 700 $aCastellano$b Rosetta$0520402 801 0$bFlBoTFG 801 1$bFlBoTFG 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910962498103321 996 $aWhat makes us stay together$94489450 997 $aUNINA
