It gives a concise introduction to advanced concepts that are important for research in elementary particle theory. Topics include the path integral, loop expansion, Feynman rules, various regularization methods, renormalization, running couplings and the renormalization group, fixed points and asymptotic freedom, effective action, Coleman-Weinberg effective potential, fermions, the axial anomaly, QED, gauge fixing, nonabelian gauge theories, unitarity, optical theorem, Slavnov-Taylor identities, beta function of Yang-Mills theory, a heuristic derivation of asymptotic freedom, instantons in SU(N) gauge theory, theta vacua and the strong CP problem. Exercises are included and are intended for advanced graduate students or postdocs seeking to deepen their understanding of QFT. 410 0$aSpringerBriefs in Physics,$x2191-5431 606 $aParticles (Nuclear physics) 606 $aQuantum field theory 606 $aElementary Particles, Quantum Field Theory 615 0$aParticles (Nuclear physics) 615 0$aQuantum field theory. 615 14$aElementary Particles, Quantum Field Theory. 676 $a530.143 676 $a530.143 700 $aCline$b James M.$f1960-$0845491 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910739468703321 996 $aAdvanced concepts in quantum field theory$91887559 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03152oam 2200625 c 450 001 9910966381803321 005 20251202090341.0 010 $a3-8382-7196-3 024 3 $a9783838271965 035 $a(CKB)4100000007520796 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL5778595 035 $a(OCoLC)1083463199 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5778595 035 $a(ibidem)9783838271965 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000007520796 100 $a20251202d2018 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 14$aThe Holocaust in Czechoslovak and Czech Feature Films /$fSarka Sladovnikova, Reinhard Ibler, Nicholas Orsillo, Ji?í Holý 205 $a1st ed. 210 $aHannover$cibidem$d2018 215 $a1 online resource (167 pages) 225 0 $aLiteratur und Kultur im mittleren und östlichen Europa$v19 327 $aIntro -- Contents -- Foreword -- Introduction -- After WWII: The Pioneer -- 1959-1969: The New Wave -- 1970-1989: The Normalization -- 1989-1999: New Beginnings -- After 2000: New Approaches -- Conclusion -- Bibliography -- Filmography -- About the Author -- Index. 330 $a?árka Sladovníková analyzes the depiction of the Holocaust in Czechoslovak and Czech Feature Films and the relevant literary pretexts. While she charts the social and cultural framework in which the films were made and how this framework changed, she also focuses on the cinematic language, the composition of and narration in each film (e.g., the depiction of the war and the Shoah as a narratively closed versus a narratively open event), genre aspects of the films (e.g., the use of comedy and humor), convention and innovation in presenting motifs and characters (the division of gender roles, the character of the ?good German?). Particular attention is paid to the portrayal of stereotypes and countertypes in the films, where already well-known images, situations, and backdrops are repeated and which meet viewers? expectations or, in contrast, which form countertypes and countersituations that go against the grain. Many of the films analyzed are adaptations of literary works. Therefore, this book is also a contribution to the rapidly developing field of adaptation studies. 410 0$aLiteratur und Kultur im mittleren und o?stlichen Europa ;$v19. 606 $aHolocaust 606 $aCzechoslovak 606 $aFeature Films 606 $aSpielfilm 606 $aTschecheslowakei 606 $aczech 606 $aTschechien 615 4$aHolocaust 615 4$aCzechoslovak 615 4$aFeature Films 615 4$aSpielfilm 615 4$aTschecheslowakei 615 4$aczech 615 4$aTschechien 676 $a791.43658 700 $aSladovnikova$b Sarka$4aut$0769272 702 $aIbler$b Reinhard$4edt 702 $aOrsillo$b Nicholas$4trl 702 $aHolý$b Ji?í$4aui 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910966381803321 996 $aHolocaust in czechoslovak and czech feature films$91568004 997 $aUNINA
