In the experiment reported herein, heritage Spanish speakers are shown to accept and produce particular non-target psychological predicate constructions. Their behavior is interpreted as revealing two 'optimization' strategies-Map the animate argument to the structural subject position and the inanimate argument to the structural object; and dedicate the preverbal position to the structural subject-which render the mapping more transparent. 410 0$aAmsterdam studies in the theory and history of linguistic science.$nSeries IV,$pCurrent issues in linguistic theory ;$vv. 275. 606 $aRomance languages$vCongresses 606 $aLinguistics$vCongresses 615 0$aRomance languages 615 0$aLinguistics 676 $a440 701 $aNishida$b Chiyo$0317510 701 $aMontreuil$b Jean-Pierre$0317511 712 12$aLinguistic Symposium on Romance Languages. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910964256603321 996 $aMorphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics$94347970 997 $aUNINA
