In the early 1990's, women filmmakers in Brazil were credited for being at the forefront of the rebirth of filmmaking, or retomada, after the abolition of the state film agency and subsequent standstill of film production. Despite their numbers and success, films by Brazilian women directors are generally absent from discussions of Latin American film and published scholarly works. Filling this void, this work focuses on women's film production in Brazil from the mid-1970's to the current era. 606 $aMotion pictures$zBrazil 606 $aWomen motion picture producers and directors$zBrazil 615 0$aMotion pictures 615 0$aWomen motion picture producers and directors 676 $a791.43082 700 $aMarsh$b Leslie L$01812470 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910963159003321 996 $aBrazilian women's filmmaking$94364905 997 $aUNINA
