The author's examination of novels by Valera, Pereda, Alas, and Galdos demonstrates that these works are instead a complex exploration of male identity. Decoding the gender ideology of women's roles, discourse, and representations, Charnon-Deutsch uncovers in the novels multiple configurations of androcentricity as well as voyeuristic tendencies, which she interprets as a means of mastering what is threatening to the male psyche. 410 0$aPurdue University monographs in Romance languages ;$v32. 606 $aSpanish fiction$y19th century$xHistory and criticism 606 $aWomen in literature 615 0$aSpanish fiction$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aWomen in literature. 676 $a863/.509352042 700 $aCharnon-Deutsch$b Lou$0223159 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910962230803321 996 $aGender and representation$94375721 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02591nam 2200637Ia 450 001 9910965045603321 005 20250630211124.0 010 $a0-19-159864-X 010 $a9786611989033 010 $a0-19-151945-6 010 $a1-281-98903-7 035 $a(CKB)111087313312294 035 $a(EBL)3053236 035 $a(OCoLC)316064811 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000085423 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11116217 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000085423 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10024640 035 $a(PQKB)10965683 035 $a(StDuBDS)EDZ0000075332 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3053236 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3053236 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10283667 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL198903 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5745807 035 $a(OCoLC)42745495 035 $a(FINmELB)ELB163879 035 $a(EXLCZ)99111087313312294 100 $a20000929d2000 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aAristotle's theory of substance $ethe Categories and Metaphysics Zeta /$fMichael V. Two sources for these views are 'Categories' and the central books of 'Metaphysics'. This text argues that he is engaged in different projects in these books. 410 0$aOxford Aristotle studies. 606 $aSubstance (Philosophy) 615 0$aSubstance (Philosophy) 676 $a111/.1/092 700 $aWedin$b Michael V$g(Michael Vernon),$f1943-$045175 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910965045603321 996 $aAristotle's theory of substance$94401367 997 $aUNINA
