However, this is not so. For at least 30 years, analytic philosophy has consisted in an increasingly loose and variable amalgam of philosophical topics, views and methods. This state of affairs has led some to claim that, despite its professional entrenchment, analytic philosophy is in a state of crisis. Analytic Philosophy: The History of an Illusion argues that this is so, and that the crisis is deeper and more longstanding than i 410 0$aContinuum studies in philosophy. 606 $aAnalysis (Philosophy) 606 $aAnalysis (Philosophy)$xHistory 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aAnalysis (Philosophy) 615 0$aAnalysis (Philosophy)$xHistory. 676 $a320.51 700 $aPreston$b Aaron$0864333 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910461539703321 996 $aAnalytic philosophy$91929281 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03586nam 2200673Ia 450 001 9910961349303321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a9786613810441 010 $a9781282232709 010 $a1282232703 010 $a9780889207226 010 $a0889207224 024 7 $a10.51644/9780889207226 035 $a(CKB)1000000000521176 035 $a(OCoLC)144145338 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebrary10139778 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000284860 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11239332 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000284860 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10261774 035 $a(PQKB)10520195 035 $a(CaPaEBR)402489 035 $a(CaBNvSL)slc00200149 035 $a(OCoLC)1132223779 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)muse71901 035 $a(VaAlCD)20.500.12592/wb8x65 035 $a(schport)gibson_crkn/2009-12-01/2/402489 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3050285 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3246378 035 $a(DE-B1597)667343 035 $a(DE-B1597)9780889207226 035 $a(Perlego)1706854 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000521176 100 $a20751205d1975 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcn||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aThree Chilean thinkers /$fSolomon Lipp 205 $a1st ed. 210 $aWaterloo, Ont. $cMcGill University$dc1975 215 $a1 online resource (175 pages) 300 $aIncludes index. 311 08$a9780889200173 311 08$a0889200173 320 $aIncludes bibliography and index. 327 $tFront Matter --$tTable of Contents --$tPreface --$tIntroduction --$tFrancisco Bilbao (1823-1865) --$tValentin Letelier (1852-1919) --$tEnrique Molina (1871-1964) --$tConclusion --$tReferences --$tSelected Bibliography --$tIndex 330 $aThree Chilean Thinkers, a companion piece to Three Argentine Thinkers, attempts to examine some of the outstanding characters of Chile's intellectual development by way of analyzing the contribution of three of her distinguished representatives. Each thinker or philosopher, whichever the case may be, is symbolic of a definite sociopolitical movement which left its unmistakable imprint upon the cultural scene. Moreover, each thinker, no doubt, was strongly influenced by European philosophical trends, but should in now way be considered a mere imitator. It would be more accurate to say that they adapted these currents to their particular situation, utilizing the various component elements in order to explain or reform the Spanish American scene. Since each of the three represents a separate epoch, it was thought best to present them in chronological fashion in order to insure a measure of historical continuity. Thus, the first author treated is Francisco Bilbao, representative par excellence of the Romantic period. He is followed by Valentín Letelier, who can be said to have been one of the foremost exponents of what may well be considered as a reaction to Romanticism, namely, the Positivist era. Finally, Positivism, in turn, also produced a reaction in the form of the various idealistic tendencies which blossomed forth at the turn of the century?reaction to the dominant position exercised by evolutionism and scientism?represented in Chile by Enrique Molina. 607 $aChile$xIntellectual life 676 $a199/.83 700 $aLipp$b Solomon$01191927 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910961349303321 996 $aThree Chilean thinkers$94364341 997 $aUNINA
