Correlation. 330 3 $aWe test the extent to which growth in the 11 CIS countries (excluding Russia) was associated with developments in Russia, overall, as well as through the trade, financial and remittance channels over the last decade or so. The results point to the continued existence of economic links between the CIS countries and Russia, though these links may have altered since the 1998 crisis. Russia appears to influence regional growth mainly through the remittance channel and somewhat less so through the financial channel. There is a shrinking role of the trade (exports to Russia) channel. Russian growth shocks are associated with sizable effects on Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and, to some extent, Georgia. 410 0$aIMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;$vNo. 2009/277 606 $aBusiness cycles$zRussia (Federation) 606 $aCapital movements$zRussia (Federation) 606 $aBalance of payments$2imf 606 $aCurrency$2imf 606 $aCurrent Account Adjustment$2imf 606 $aCurrent account balance$2imf 606 $aCurrent account$2imf 606 $aEnergy: Demand and Supply$2imf 606 $aExports and Imports$2imf 606 $aForeign Exchange$2imf 606 $aForeign exchange$2imf 606 $aInternational economics$2imf 606 $aInternational finance$2imf 606 $aMacroeconomics$2imf 606 $aOil prices$2imf 606 $aPrices$2imf 606 $aReal effective exchange rates$2imf 606 $aRemittances$2imf 606 $aShort-term Capital Movements$2imf 607 $aRussian Federation$2imf 615 0$aBusiness cycles 615 0$aCapital movements 615 7$aBalance of payments 615 7$aCurrency 615 7$aCurrent Account Adjustment 615 7$aCurrent account balance 615 7$aCurrent account 615 7$aEnergy: Demand and Supply 615 7$aExports and Imports 615 7$aForeign Exchange 615 7$aForeign exchange 615 7$aInternational economics 615 7$aInternational finance 615 7$aMacroeconomics 615 7$aOil prices 615 7$aPrices 615 7$aReal effective exchange rates 615 7$aRemittances 615 7$aShort-term Capital Movements 676 $a332.042 700 $aEspinosa-Bowen$b Jaime$01815984 701 $aAlturki$b Fahad$01815985 701 $aIlahi$b Nadeem$01815986 712 02$aInternational Monetary Fund. 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910961190703321 996 $aHow Russia Affects the Neighborhood - Trade, Financial, and Remittance Channels$94371619 997 $aUNINA
