Not surprisingly, the most controversial of Russwurm's ideas was his unwavering support of the American Colonization Society (ACS) and the Maryland State Colonization Society (MSCS), two organizations that most civil rights activists found racist and pro-slavery. Beyan probes the social and intellectual sources, underlying motives and the legacies of Russwurm's thoughts and endeavours, all in an attempt to dissect why Russwurm acted and made the choices that he did. 606 $aAfrica$xHistory 606 $aAmerica$xHistory 606 $aAsia$xHistory 606 $aEthnology 606 $aCulture 606 $aUnited States$xHistory 606 $aAfrican History 606 $aHistory of the Americas 606 $aAsian History 606 $aRegional Cultural Studies 606 $aUS History 615 0$aAfrica$xHistory. 615 0$aAmerica$xHistory. 615 0$aAsia$xHistory. 615 0$aEthnology. 615 0$aCulture. 615 0$aUnited States$xHistory. 615 14$aAfrican History. 615 24$aHistory of the Americas. 615 24$aAsian History. 615 24$aRegional Cultural Studies. 615 24$aUS History. 676 $a966 62/01/092 676 $aB 700 $aBeyan$b Amos Jones$01794490 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910960825603321 996 $aAfrican American Settlements in West Africa$94335169 997 $aUNINA
