It is based on a ten-month fieldwork employing ethnographic methods working, living and sharing with the displaced and their host. The book calls for a longer time-frame analysis of the phenomenon of displacement, which considers people's lives both pre- and post- physical relocation. It examines how violence and terror altered people's sense of place and set off displacement process before they actually moved. It analyses the challenges the displaced are facing in their subsequent place-making endeavours, including the negotiation of social relations, consequences of categorization, engagement with the physical land, and memories of violence to challenge the notion that displacement starts with uprooting and terminates with resettlement or return. 410 0$aNew ethnographies. 606 $aLebensbedingungen$2gnd 606 $aSoziale Situation$2gnd 606 $aVertreibung$2gnd 606 $aUmsiedlung$2gnd 606 $aRefugees$xSocial conditions$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01092844 606 $aRefugees$xSocial conditions 606 $aRefugees$zColombia$xSocial conditions 607 $aKolumbien$2gnd 607 $aColombia$2fast 610 $aColombia. 610 $aDisplacement. 610 $abelonging. 610 $acategorisation. 610 $aemplacement. 610 $afear. 610 $aidentity. 610 $ainternal displacement. 610 $aplace attachment. 610 $aplace. 610 $atemporality. 610 $atrust. 610 $aviolence. 615 7$aLebensbedingungen. 615 7$aSoziale Situation. 615 7$aVertreibung. 615 7$aUmsiedlung. 615 7$aRefugees$xSocial conditions. 615 7$aRefugees$xSocial conditions. 615 7$aRefugees$xSocial conditions. 676 $a362.8709861 700 $aCelestina$b Mateja$4aut$01806921 801 0$bMdBmJHUP 801 1$bMdBmJHUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910960802603321 996 $aLiving displacement$94356358 997 $aUNINA
