Exploring the work of Rene? Me?nil, E?douard Glissant, Wilson Harris, Derek Walcott, Antonio Beni?tez-Rojo, Pauline Melville, Robert Antoni and Nalo Hopkinson, this study reveals the explicit and implicit engagement with Deleuzian thought at work in contemporary Caribbean writing. Uniting for the first time two major schools of contemporary thought - postcolonialism and post-continental philosophy - this study establishes a new and innovative critical discourse for Caribbean studies and postcolonial theory beyond the oppositional dialectic of colonizer and colonized. Drawing from Deleuze's writings on Bergson, Nietzsche and Spinoza, this study interrogates the postcolonial tropes of newness, becoming, relationality and a philosophical concept of immanence that lie at the heart of a little-observed dialogue between contemporary Caribbean writers and Deleuze 606 $aCaribbean literature$y20th century$xHistory and criticism 606 $aPostcolonialism in literature 606 $aContinental philosophy 615 0$aCaribbean literature$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aPostcolonialism in literature. 615 0$aContinental philosophy. 676 $a809/.89729 700 $aBurns$b Lorna$01129343 801 0$bUtOrBLW 801 1$bUtOrBLW 801 2$bUkLoBP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910960260803321 996 $aContemporary Caribbean writing and Deleuze$94340505 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03599nam 22007095 450 001 9910300543403321 005 20200704053321.0 010 $a3-319-72802-4 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-319-72802-5 035 $a(CKB)4100000001382116 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-319-72802-5 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5199557 035 $a(PPN)222228849 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000001382116 100 $a20171214d2018 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn|008mamaa 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aElectrodynamics of Quantum-Critical Conductors and Superconductors /$fby Uwe Santiago Pracht 205 $a1st ed. 2018. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2018. 215 $a1 online resource (XX, 176 p. 62 illus., 1 illus. in color.) 225 1 $aSpringer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,$x2190-5053 300 $a"Doctoral thesis accepted by the University of Stuttgart, Germany". 311 $a3-319-72801-6 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 327 $aField-Theoretical Basics of Superconductivity -- Experimental Studies of Disordered NBN -- Thin ?lms -- Experimental Studies of Granular Al Thin Films -- Experimental Studies of the Heavy -- Fermion Metal CeCoIn5. 330 $aThis thesis presents and discusses recent optical low-temperature experiments on disordered NbN, granular Al thin-films, and the heavy-fermion compound CeCoIn5, offering a unified picture of quantum-critical superconductivity. It provides a concise introduction to the respective theoretical models employed to interpret the experimental results, and guides readers through in-depth calculations supplemented with supportive figures in order to both retrace the interpretations and span the bridge between experiment and state-of-the art theory. 410 0$aSpringer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,$x2190-5053 606 $aSuperconductivity 606 $aSuperconductors 606 $aMathematical physics 606 $aSpectrum analysis 606 $aMicroscopy 606 $aParticles (Nuclear physics) 606 $aQuantum field theory 606 $aStrongly Correlated Systems, Superconductivity$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P25064 606 $aTheoretical, Mathematical and Computational Physics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P19005 606 $aSpectroscopy and Microscopy$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P31090 606 $aElementary Particles, Quantum Field Theory$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P23029 615 0$aSuperconductivity. 615 0$aSuperconductors. 615 0$aMathematical physics. 615 0$aSpectrum analysis. 615 0$aMicroscopy. 615 0$aParticles (Nuclear physics) 615 0$aQuantum field theory. 615 14$aStrongly Correlated Systems, Superconductivity. 615 24$aTheoretical, Mathematical and Computational Physics. 615 24$aSpectroscopy and Microscopy. 615 24$aElementary Particles, Quantum Field Theory. 676 $a530.1433 700 $aPracht$b Uwe Santiago$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01060171 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910300543403321 996 $aElectrodynamics of Quantum-Critical Conductors and Superconductors$92511525 997 $aUNINA
